I've been looking for way to fill whats left of my spare time and decided to start brewing my own beers. I went out on a whim and picked up a nice big kit (didn't need half the shit) and got started last Friday night. In short, boil the water and ingredients and cool down as fast as possible. Stir in the yeast and put in a air tight 6.5 gallon bucket and put the air lock in. A about month later you've got beer ready to drink. In the last week I've been totally over whelmed with all this information. being the forum whore that I am I joined HomeBreTalk.com and they have been GREAT! There's one catch, EVERYTHING has to be sanitized.....EVERYTHING!!!

I'm hoping this is gonna turn out great. Hearing what others have said it should be just fine.

Here's my thread, if you want a good laugh

Mmmm beer. I've been thinking about trying to brew beer for the past couple years just dont think I have the patience for it. Knowing I have beer brewing that i can't drink for weeks would kill me.

Let us know how it turns out.

Its really very simple to do. All you need is about 50 bucks worth of equipment and 4 hours one night, wait a month and about another 2 hours to bottle.

Patience is the key though. Thankfully the bucket is plastic otherwise I'd be calling into work and sitting infront watching it bubble away.

And no I have not seen the new show brewmasters

I hear ya!  I would probably consume 8 times my normal beer intake during the time i was forced to wait for the beer to ferment.
