it's a stock head gasket Bo, just a guess-tomit on it's height on my part.

My biggest fear is excessive valve float in high RPMs now :help:

and FYI to all CP piston users, there 12.5 to 1 piston is way more corrected than the old 13-1 pistons and such.  I shaved .040 off my cylinder based on the old piston heights, and ended up ~.017 above deck :'(

Base gasket stacking time :thud:

for the win!

that sucks, but at least it's easily correcable.

Yep, they are semi-corrected. I have seen some not though here lately, dont know if they were old stock or what so need to measure them. Stock gasket is .028" compressed. If your truely .017" out of the hole @ TDC then two extra base gaskets will do ya.

DL700

ive had a few 2 layer cometics that measured out @ .019 not compressed

We used a stock base gasket plus made a paper gasket to make it flush. figured if we had two more base gaskets to stack we would have  used that instead of the paper

I have too on the single layer base gasket, but its only been a couple so thats why I didnt say anything about em.

I should have got both of those head gaskets from you Daniel.  I hope it's the same as a three layer gasket with one just not installed.  I'm going to take one layer off of one of my head gaskets and check clearances that way on mine to make sure those valve reliefs are big enough for the new head.

DL700

ive got them if u need....the center layer was .009 on the 3 layer gaskets

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Dont put the cart before the horse now. You forgot to mention, cross fingers, stand on tippy toes, turn around, and hop, that the motor will make it to the weekend
