Yes, that would be nice. I am happy I went with the FUEL ATV but would like to see some unbias numbers just the same.

so would you guys agree that according to this dyno FCI is better for top end but not so much low end?

FCI

it all depends on the setup. we gain power over  competitors from 6000 rpms on. It doesnt loose power down low it matches it.

we pefer to stay away from the open end style filters. we have tested them back to back and there isnt a difference. the inverted cone looks cool but is to far away to make a difference.

Thanks for clearing that up, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a difference.
It may be because of the hp levels of these engines. Or the shape of the entry on this intake. I'm not picking a fight at all...... I will just say I have seen several dyno tests lately that show there is absolutely a difference between filters. These were independent tests, not done by the manufacturer. Substantial differences. ;)

I saw the same on my buddies 797 at an idependant shop up here in Washington....the short Spectre velocity design filter outperfomed the closed end K&N by 2 full HP on that build.   I saw very good results on my 780 as well with the spectre filter. I would love to try the FCI and plan on it when I can afford it. If it makes more power than what I have I'll run it. I'll try both their filter and my spectre on their intake tube as well. Which ever works best on mine is what I'll go with....I'm not married to the spectre if THe filter FCI uses on there tube out performes it. If it doesn't out perform the spectre velocity design, I'll sell the filter to someone who wants a spare.  I think different builds see different results so there is no definitive answer to the question which filter works the best IMHO. I think the big difference is going to be in the intake tube itself, but thats just my personal hunch.

Is just the tube and filter combo with out the box going to be avalable at a lower cost for those that have no use for the airbox?

Yes.  I have the no airbox kit on order from Steve.  The FCI is the last piece in my puzzle (well, for now anyway) and then it's off to the dyno, finally.  Hopefully I have an evac valve by then as well.  :poke:

Does the Spectra filter use oil like the K&N? DId you go back and forth  with the filters when you tested them. Are you sure its not heat soak from one dyno run to the next. Ill do some dyno runs log everything and show you.

YOu are right, the tube is where the power is on our system. These filters that we  use and what you guys are using are good for 1000+hp motors. Our bikes only use the first two inches of the filter. look at it the next time its dirty. you guys can use what ever filter you like it doesnt bother me. we will even give the option to run a foam if you like. ill even sell the kit with out a filter. Ill tell you this though our filters are hands down the best protecting and highest quality on the market in my opinion.

FCI: I am interested in your statement about selling the box and tube seperate from the filter. How much is this?

And also about the foam filter... Did you dyno the difference between the included (K&N style) and the available/optional foam? (is it a name brand such as Uni/ no toil? Same size as the K&N style?)

I prefer foam filters because like stated earlier... I have found plenty of grit inside my tube with freshly oiled K&N's!
