Its looking good, but im going to wait till someone makes a lid to fit the box.Its a bit pointless going to so much effort making a new intake tube and airbox and then not making a lid to fit  whats that all about  ???

I dont see why you would want a lid?  to actaully get the gains from the intake or any intake you shouldnt run a lid at all. unless you plan on submerging your whole bike i dont seee any need. the box and the outerwear will provide enough protection against anything. Lids restrick airflow.

we have ran the Baja 1000 this way. no joke.

On Mmad's dyno I picked up 2hp alone from taking my stock air box lid off.... talk about cheap horsepower for 15 seconds of clips

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

I at first was very hesitant to remove my airbox lid due to where I ride.. (mud, water, deep water holes, ect...) And to this date I haven't had anything sucked through my intake / pre-filter on my K&N. If I was running my foam I'd be a bit more hesitant though.

The seat is so darn close to the top of the box it really is almost pointless to put a lid on.  However for those of you that are freaking out I am going to have an outerware lid cover available.

Better than that stock one right

Same design.  Aaron maybe you could pm me the issue you had with yours so that I can address it and make sure we dont have the same problem.  The z400 one and the yfz450 one have had zero issues but I have had numerous complaints about the stock 700 cover.

Welcome FCI.Here in the UK,we have Byways, which are like trails and there is some deep water in places with thick mud.We go through water upto 3 foot deep at quit some speed on the back wheels.Any way my protec lid even lets in a lot of water and have thought about going back to the OEM lid.The problem is the water gets up the side of the airbox hits the seat and drops into the box. After riding,i take the bung out of the bottom of the box and it runs like a tap for approx 5 seconds. This is the reason why i would like a good lid

That's how I feel as well. I know water still gets into my box. But I keep my plug out when I ride so it basically goes in and out.

How hard is it to suck water through a pre-filter for a K&N? ???
