isn't that the exhaust that closes baffles on decell to increase back pressure  ???

The NPP exhaust, or dual mode exhaust opens at 3500 rpm to flow better at higher rpm. Once below 3500 rpm, the valve closes for a quieter sound.

There is an exhaust module you can buy to leave it open at the flick of a switch, or tie it into your Homelink transmitter.

Here's a sound clip at idle: NPP Exhaust Idle

Takeoff (See second series :40 seconds into clip) Valve opening

My wife likes going underneath overpasses at 3500 rpms or higher and shifting. It's LOUD with the top off.

maybe the nicest performance vehicle I've seen built in the last 30 years

The've been around my neighborhood a while already, I was checking one out up close and personal recently and they realy are amazing.....

If you think that is nice have you guys seen the Race Pack Version yet ???

Runs 11's off the showroom floor but comes with no title and it can NOT be registered, it's strictly for Drag Racing.

It's the first Race pack in over 40 Years that Dodge has offered Little Teaser Vid Here

392 Hemi 540/490

Next performance street vehicle released will be the Road Runner in 2010

GO MOPAR GO!!!

I really doubt thats real  :spam:

It's real.....

We were talking about it at work yesterday.

The Challenger Drag Race Package marks the 70th anniversary of Mopar and forty years since the company's last factory-built drag-race package. Based on the Challenger SRT8, the Drag Race Package features a composite "Body-in-White" direct from the factory and a host of lightweight components, to say nothing of all the parts being deleted for drag-strip use. The engine has been repositioned and the wheelbase actually shortened to optimize weight distribution and driveline angle. Designed in cooperation with the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and previewed back in 2006 by the 392 HEMI Dodge Challenger Super Stock concept at SEMA (pictured above), Mopar will build 100 examples of the race-prepped Challenger with three different engine packages available.

The car will come with an MSO, but it is not for highway use.

gotta give daimler-chrysler some props for this one. Now, if they wait 30 - 40 yrs to sell them, they could make some real cash.

They will only build 100 of them.

yep, making them collectors items that will fetch 20x their value at auction in 30 yrs.

What is the term for the car that gets customers in the door? Though they won't buy it, they would buy another car.
Flagship? I know there is a term. That's what the viper started out as. Like  Ford selling that GT90. They may lose money on it, but people will come to check it out and buy a Mustang.
