You had the English Brown Ale. Not my favorite style of beer, but it turned out alright..... :(

I've got some in the works that should be amazing!

So after getting a set up going about how much does it cost per batch? and normally how many bottles comes out of a batch?

After the setup costs its pretty damn cheap! You can buy beer kits from 15 bucks to over 100 bucks. A typical Pale Ale or a Blue Moon clone would cost around 25-30 dollars. IPA's cost more due to the quantity of hops.

Most kits will make you 5-6 gallons which turns out to be about 60 12oz bottles. If you do that math thats about 50 cents a bottle and 3 bucks a 6pack. Most 6 packs I buy will range from 7-15 dollars. And yes, I'm trying to justify the start up costs

Once you do your first batch you'll be hooked.

I should have my kegging system up and running tomorrow night, and be drinking my own draft beers by the weekend.

I have been thinking about doing it for a while but need some justification to do it  I am just afraid of making a batch that completly tastes like shit... I will look into it more now.

Finally bought my starter kit and IPA ingredients, should be here in a couple of weeks. I will be ready to start cooking by the end of the month!

Please, if you guys are thinking/doing your first kits call me and I'll really set some fears to rest. It sounds SUPER complicated, but it really is simple. Reading online it sounds like every batch will turn out infected. Give me a shout when it come time to buying anything and I'll set you stright on what you need.

Its really not as hard as you think!

Here in 2 weeks I'll have some bottled batches ready for drinking. I'll send you a few if you like.

I just got my order of kegging supplies and coming this weekend I'll be drinking from the tap 8) SO EXCITED!

Cool, thanks Shawn, ordered the Coopers kit:

A friend who lives close by bought the same one so figured we could compare notes and tips with him. You really gave me the shove I needed to get started. Had to start with kits and with the extract kits because there are no brewery stores in mu country and this just sounded easier. Any tips other than sanitizing, careful with temps and patiece to let it mature? I can still cancel this kit if you think it's not so good.

That kit will get you buy, but as time goes on you'll want to upgrade some things. I'm at work now and cant view any homebrew sites. When I get home I'll link you to some kits that are alot better for not much more money.

I get my beer kits from AustinsHomeBrew. Free shipping if over 100 bucks.

NorthersBewers is good

MidwestSupplies is good also

If you don't mind will you just link them here or link those kits to me as well? I need to run it by the GF before i buy it but I am sure she will say yes... Just would rather be in good graces then get yelled at or have to buy her something

preddy08

Here's the kit I'd buy. That should last you for years to come. http://www.austinhomebrew.com/index.php?cPath=178_452
If you want to do a couple of beers at the same time you could simply buy another primary fermet bucket.

If you looking for beers reciepe kits, take a look here. http://www.austinhomebrew.com/index.php?cPath=178_452

If you have a micro brew that you like they have clone kits. IE, if you like Blue Moon, they have a reciepe that tastes just like it. Look here: http://www.austinhomebrew.com/index.php?cPath=178_452_43
