So this weekend I'm going to be pulling the head/cylinder off the rappy.

The head is headed out to Bo. I have is Original Track port from waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day it's been almost exactly 2 years! :jaw:  ::)  seems crazy to think its been that long. But it's going there to get the trex port w/ some +1 valves.

I'm replacing the HotCam Stage 2 with an X-2 cam.

assuming all is well w/ the sleeve/cylinder. I'll be just re-ringing the 10.75:1 CP piston and calling it a day. :)

unless someone has a 12:1 piston they are looking to ditch. ;) :)

Cool Randy!!  You got some hours on your bike now, make sure you check out your rod/crank bearings for play as long as your in there.

Peelz

I have a home for your hotcam... ;)

VelociRaptor

Ive got a 13:1 CP here......

Krandall

Don't know if I want to go that high. I want to steer away from the use of any race gas. I'm assuming 13:1 I'd require a solid 50/50 mix?

Question..

I've pulled the head off. Next weekend (I hope) the cylinder will be coming off for new rings on the piston. Do I need to re-hone they cylinder? If so. Any suggestions on hones?

First I would measure the bore to see if its even in spec. More than likely it will be. Then I'd clean it really well with WD and a rag, then take some grey scotch brite and knock off the "glaze". Then clean it really well with WD and rag, then with Brake clean and rag.
Just a little 81hp trail bike.

VelociRaptor

He has one of my sleeved cylinders, send it with the head and Ill check it out for ya.

Krandall

I would but I won't be able to. Wont see the quad for another 2+ weeks. :(

sucks living far away from it :'( :'( :'( :'(

Randy, I'm sure there's a local speed shop that has all the correct tools to assess your cylinder, and shouldn't cost too much.

going to be ordering my head gaskets and base gasket.

Word on the street is I should stick w/ the stock base gasket. I have a small leak in the one on it right now.

How about head gaskets for a 727 (bored) whats the "good" one?
