well air temp effects air desity..so like a with motors cold air is more dense, and has the potential to impede light.  But it truly is a very small effect. Hense why satellites can see earthly stuff with ~zero delay

I think I read something about an aerogel (sp?) translucent solid that can reduce speed of light to a walking pace.  Popular Science maybe had an article on it a few years ago.  I can see an picture from the article in my head but I don't remember where I saw it.

I couldn't find anything on Helium3 being a super fluid (only that it's used in nuclear fission)
