Sad day for my family guys....

My dad, Allen Pealer, lost his fight today. It was tranquil and painless, for that we are thankful. We have had our California relatives staying with us, they finally went home yesterday. I am convinced he needed the calm of his own home to be ready to go. He was 62. A Navy veteran of Vietnam, ironically had his heart attack on veteran's day. And had just retired 2 weeks prior. He will be missed by alot of people.

thought and prayers are of course appreciated. But if you want to do more for me...

If you are a smoker, do your best to kick the habit.

I'm really sorry to hear that man...I think everyone else has said everything just right so I don't have anything better to add except you know where to go if you ever need to talk about anything or need anything at all...

I've had one of my worst weeks in my entire life this week so I am already emotional. The last few post made me tear up. I am sooo sorry Eric, I know your pain very well. It's been 16 years, 4 months, 11 days since I lost my dad. I lost him suddenly and wish I could have just one more hour with him. I would have changed my last words that we had together. You are very fortunate to be able to spend the last few months with him even as painful as it was. He didn't die in vain and was surrounded by love when he left. I hope to have that when its my time to turn in. Keep your chin up and walk with big strides. You only have one life so live it without regrets.

Just a few moments ago my son run into my room screaming "I need a dollar, I need a dollar, I  hear the icecream truck". So I get up give him 2 dollars and he scurries off. He just walked into my room and gave me a Icecream sandwich. I asked him "why'd you get me one too?" He shrugged his shoulders and said, "Cause your my Dad."..... The little things.

Looks like Dad's service will be wednesday around 10am. Will be held at Elliot Chapel in New London, Ia.

Pretty much just camping out with Mom at their house, supporting each other.
