So....my stubborn old man has defied the odds.He is improving. He has short times where he is semi alert, and even got a drink himself. Not out of the woods by any means, but better than we thought.

Prayers and thoughts appreciated immensely.

Just got a text from Mom. She says Pops is waking up more often. Still very disoriented. He even ate a little. And even said HI to his sister on the phone. We are keeping the hope up. He has a ton of friends and family around him.

We still don't know if there was any damage. He was out for close to 5 minutes I guess. He actually had a DNR order. "do not ressucitate" So he wouldn't ever have to be a burden, But the EMT's didn't know about it. So here we are. They are keeping him medicated with pain meds so he doesn't wake up and freak out, and have another one. They think he might have a cracked rib and sternum from CPR and the paddles causing pain. No way to know how much damage until they can stop some of the meds.

I told Ma the raptor community was pulling for him, she got a good smile out of it, so thank you all.


Erich. Please tell your church group thank you a bunch for their prayers, we appreciate it. Got your message the next day too late.

My non belief in miracles has been tested. 

A few days ago, I thought I would no longer be able to talk to my dad. He was really in bad shape. Even having seizures, the doctors doubted he would regain consciousness... Today, he is up, eating, and even watching the Iowa game. Even though he knows they lose if he watches it. Able to speak with little to no problems. It is absolutely amazing. He is still disoriented from the morphine for pain, and his memory is understandably shaky. But my family is in pretty high spirits right now. Keep those prayers going.
