I screwed that up, I was just taking it down to fix it

yep, anti-sway bar prohibits body roll by linking the two a-arms together. Stops one side from compressing too much more than the other in a turn. No-no on the struts. Ice is way rougher than I thought it would be. I got to ride a Rappy with and without one last year. It works pretty well. the sway bar, along with the front lowering shackle kit, and some really good studded tires, the quad I rode stuck to the ice like glue-it was weird. I figured it would be squirrely as hell.

It is a blast though.

You gonna run bare tire or studded? Bare tire it would be a waste of money, studded its night and day.

Studs on ice has just as much traction if not more than hoosiers on pavement. Swaybar allows you to dive so much harder into the corners without worrying about bicycling.

Get a Rath with the billet clamps, half the weight of a Durablue.

Sweet, thanks for the info. I've heard bad review on the durablue for the 660.

And Rath racing is in my neighboring state. i may have to give him a call.

Daryl Rath's Polaris 450 MX with sway bar

Rath Racing is in Hutchinson Mn. I would recommend going to his shop for mock up & to ensure getting the correct mounts/links. I know Daryl assured me he had the right stuff to get the job done.  Not sure if there's any differences mounting the sway bar with your a-arms & shocks. Bama's sway bar is for a 450 I think & he "made it" work. JMHO

Krandall

I sent Bama a PM seeing if he can send me  apic of his setup on how he made the sway bar work.

Durablue has a convoluted method which involves using an extended sway bar and mounting it what I would consider "backwards".  May get in the way of people who are using stick style steering stabilizers, pucks would be fine.

Rath was supposedly working on some new brackets back in the 2006 season, never heard/followed up to see if he came out with anything.

I got tired of waiting and looking so I just built my own, not pretty but it worked.  The brackets for the yfz/660/700 would need to be specific for those models, the universal kits (read "honda") used for the last 20 years won't cut it.

Krandall

You built your own sway bar? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ??? ??? ???

Actually my father built a sway bar for me when we first started racing the raptor.  It needed some more design work but it got us through a season.  I was waiting/hoping for a fix for the mouthing issues.  Bought a durablue anyway and rigged our own mounts to an oem front bumper and it's frame mounting locations as a temporary fix but never found a good solution so we left it that way.

Krandall

Have you sold it yet? My dad is a metal fabricator on the side. I'm sure we can come up with something. If you're wanting to sell it MD let me know.

The home made jobber isn't in any kind of shape to be used but if it would be useful to you somehow I can see if we still have it.
