Have you ever looked at a Ricochet brand?

They have a chain guard on their skids for the swinger.

Correct.

Ricochet.

MY rear skid is a Ricochet, the rest are DG Fat series (Just a tad thicker).

I like the idea that it will flex a little and go back to original shape.  Mine had to be reshaped twice because it was rubbing on my chain.  I just want something to take the impact but hold its shape.  Here is their description.

The new "Hammer Force Skid Plates" provide extreme under carriage protection from hard objects. These new skid plates outperform aluminum with our proprietary memory enhanced urethane. When aluminum hits a hard object it will deform and remain jammed in your brake or sprocket hub. If you hit the same object, the "Hammer Force Skid Plate" will flex and then reform to its original shape. It is so strong that it can withstand repeated blows from a sledge hammer without damage! Our scientist spent years developing this one of a kind product that can't be duplicated or copied.
I've got a Tag Glider skid plate & I would hope that DuraBlue's plastic composition is different.  I hit a rock & ripped off 1 rear mount,  I was almost launched of the seat so I suspect an aluminum skid would have easily bent & been  up.  The rock hit flattened out my frame slightly

IMHO I think a layered skid plate is worth a shot, plastic, aluminum then plastic.  All glued together & riveted   How crazy does that sound?

Anyone have these DuraBlues mounted up yet?

socalrappy700

I haven't seen a durablue mounted yet, but I'll look around.  But I like the idea you have for skids.  I say you have yourself a startup company.

Lots of $$ for something that was test in Cali's harsh enviroment
Mines off the machine because its seen better days, maybe it was rider error  ???

socalrappy700

Cali is some of the harshest riding I've seen.  It will destroy bikes out there.  Here is not as bad but I would think that a layered skid plate would be the way to go.  Someone needs to start making that.
