Durablue came out with "plastic" skid plates.  They are much lighter then the heavy duty aluminum but can take quite a hit.  Here is the link.

the only thing I don't like about them is the "formed" plastic... looks cheap IMO. Have you seen the Tag series plastic ones?

A friend of mine has some that are made out of a similar Nylon like a cutting board.  That shit has held up awesome!

I would like the "formed" plastic ones if it was a strong enough plastic.  No joints to bend at.  It all depends on the plastic they use.  Did you have a link for the tag ones?

I found it on the Tag site.  But that is only for the underbody, not the swing arm. I wouldn't want a plastic one with joints....IMO.

It doesn't look molded.  It looks like its been flexed to shape or with a joint.

the only part that doesn't look molded is the 2 wings that fold up on the sides, other than that, it looks like it was cut out with a bandsaw.. no issues there I wouldn'tt think.

agreed.  I would use the TAG one for the underbody, since I don't care about the wings.  But they don't make a swing arm skid so I would go with the durablue.  I would like to see one up close.

true.. I left my stock one on my swinger. I think the metal ones would look to bulky on the tdub swinger

They do, but it sure does suck when you hit a big rock and kill your sprocket.
