I've kissed plenty of trees, but none have come close to my sprocket. i'm actually looking into having a product built if it doesn't already exist..

instead of having a swingarm guard, how about just a sprocket guard?

The only bad thing about aluminum is it has a tendancy to "stick" to things instead of plastic and gliding over..

I like the idea that it will flex a little and go back to original shape.  Mine had to be reshaped twice because it was rubbing on my chain.  I just want something to take the impact but hold its shape.  Here is their description.

The new "Hammer Force Skid Plates" provide extreme under carriage protection from hard objects. These new skid plates outperform aluminum with our proprietary memory enhanced urethane. When aluminum hits a hard object it will deform and remain jammed in your brake or sprocket hub. If you hit the same object, the "Hammer Force Skid Plate" will flex and then reform to its original shape. It is so strong that it can withstand repeated blows from a sledge hammer without damage! Our scientist spent years developing this one of a kind product that can't be duplicated or copied.

I'm sure there was some work in finding the right type of plastic.  I know there is some crazy hard stuff out there.

yup, twice.  I've hit it hard a few times.  Both times it got hit hard I had to have the skid plate rebent back into shape so it wouldn't touch the chain.

Mine can take any stock or aftermarket skid plate.  And this company makes one...I might try it.
