anyone own exotic pets?

I own four birds.

I have a Blue and Gold Macaw, a Blue Front Amazon, a Goffin's Cockatoo, and a Cockatiel.

I have an assortment of salt water fish too.

My mom works for the sherrifs office in my home town, she was telling me about a deputy a month ago. Got a call about possible drug dealing @ a house.  He goes up, knocks on the door.

"Just a Minute!" He hears..


He says "Ma'am, *** County Sheriffs Office open the door.

"Just a Minute!"




Ma'am, if you don't open the door we're going to come in.

Breaks down the door.. Cockatiel in a cage..... JUST A MINUTE!

i'm just curious if anyone has any exotic pets such as spiders, scorpions, snakes(not to exotic but anyway), or anything else?

i'm wanting to get a tarantula, a emporior scorpion, and a ball python someday and i was wondering if anyone had any of these pets?

if so then how good of a pet are they?

have you ever been bitten or stung by them?

do you have any pics?

and what did you name them?


or if you have any other pet that most people don't have post them up in here too.

I had sea monkeys once!     (seriously)
Anyway, I have had a couple.  I had a HUGE trarantula that you had to scoop out off the cage with a spatula or it would bite you.  Once out though he would crawl all over ya.  Unfortunately my cat Joker got him one day.  Come home and there were spider legs all over the living room and he ate the rest!   Shortly after that I got a 10ft. Burmese Python.  When I got rid of him he was 10ft 6in.  Best mouse trap ever!  Would let him out and open the kitchen cabinets and he would go all through and almost everytime you would here things start crashing from him getting one.  Got my dad's hand real good once, but my tried wiggling the dead bird and he struck!    The local pet store raised the price of gerbels though once they found out I was feeding them to the snake!  haha.  Got rid of him because he almost got my face one night while I was laying on the floor watching tv.  Don't know what provoked him, but wasn't a pretty site a 12 year old wrestling in the middle of the floor with a snake that was twice as long!
Sorry, no pictures.  I think there are some old 35mm somewhere, but no clue where.  Oh, the snake's name was Cruiser and I didn't have one for the spider.
