Well.. Long story short..

Timing Sprocket bolt fell out 20mins into riding it... bolt fell down into the crank. there's shrap everywhere... i feel sick.

Does anyone know of anyone familiar w/ raptor 700 bottom ends that'd be willing to take mine under their wing and fix it?

there's no one local I know of that I trust so I'd rather it go to someone on the forums who will take care of it for me.

Not sure the extent of the damage yet.. but I know i can't roll the quad forward or backward (assuming tranny is blown)

I will have the cylinder off in about 20 mins to look in there to see what I can see.. Part of me hopes the crank isn't damaged.. part of me says.. I wanna be like preddy. :help:

I'm gonna go and cry a bit.

for those that have my # feel free to text me any one you know who'd be interested in rebuilding.. obviously I'll pay. :)

Damn Randy, sorry to hear about that...I'd offer but I think you'd have bigger problems on your hands...If you need a stock crank hit me up, I still have mine that you can have.

So very, very sorry man.  If it was a 660 I could help you out, but after my stint the other night I wouldn't tear in to a 700R.

Here's hoping it's not as bad as it could be.

I truely am sorry for not being able to help ya out in this endevor but Im too far behind on my porting to take something like this on....even for a bud like you.
I remember one of the first engines I built for my Camaro, got to having a dead miss that wouldnt tune out. Took the valve cover off and turned the engine over with the starter and one rocker arm wasnt moving, wiped a lobe off the cam. Swapped the cam out, 2 weeks later samething! Cried infront of my Mom, no shit.

Workin @ the plant.
and porting... :)

I think for the most part I'm over it... It's a huge bummer for sure. But sh*t happens. :)

Patters. depending on the outcome, i may hit you up. I sent a PM to troy. (waiting for Aaron to send me his #)

gonna give that foolio a call and see what his next few weeks look like.  Otherwise I may have to give RE a call and see if they have some time.

Guess that means I have time to work on my Coronet tomorrow instead of goin to the track..

Hey I just remembered that Wiig would be able to help you out. He does all sorts of motors locally. I'd be more than happy to meet up with him when he does it to make sure things go smoothly. If you want I could call him and see what he thinks.

Hell, I'll call ya in the afternoon. I might be able to help ya out big time. I got a buddy that going through ATV repair school right now and the school might be looking for a project. Worst case, I'd just do it myself, with him. More than likely free of charge. I'm always looking for a reason to hang out in the garage and drink beers and work on motors.
Just a little 81hp trail bike.

Once we have an idea, can you post up a list of what is broken? Ill be around 3rd week in April, if its in the garage ill ship it to you. I have a low hours stock crank and some misc good tranny parts as well as the special tools for building it all up.

Im sorry to hear  :'(

By the looks of it.. might not be AS bad as I thought.

one piiece of shrapnel I'm not qui9te sure what it is... bigger than a tooth from the lower timing chain gear. looks like a bearing side possibly?

And then the timing gear itself (lower one)

that's all I can see damaged from above for now.

Here's a few pics

little pieces inside the case.. got a magnet down there.. didn't pick them up.. so aluminum off the case I'm assuming.

Here you can see the bolt wedged in the gear.

all nekkid

parked for a while again :(
