If you need BiXenon's they are available for $75 shipped
Warning this set does not come with a stock connector. You will have to use your stock connector with this setup or splice it into the harness. Using your stock connector will take you an additional 30 seconds to install over a "true" plug-n-play kit. Apparently there are to many applications for the H6M for just one connector.

Just a note: I'm already rock'n the 6000k HID lights and they are perfect. I personally wouldn't rock the 3000k's or any of the purples above 6000k just to much of a different contrast while nite riding, throws off the shadows a bit.

-
Will these work on a YFZ450R?
No sorry bro, different electrical setup. Unless Hefe says otherwise. ???
For $45 shipped so long as it's the same bulb I'm sure he can work it out :). He might just need to build a relay harness and have the tail light trigger the relay.
-
Im a little confused I thought the yfz450 uses the H6m bulb as well. ???
04-09 non-Efi 450's and raptor 700 have the same lights...they're interchangable
-
The H6M looks like it will fit into these bikes, Please double check your resources before you commit. This is just what I have found and I might be wrong on a couple so do your homework.

it's not an issue of fit with the bulb size, it's an AC to DC conversion. Here's the how to...

I see it says Raptor 700 (06) on the list of what they should work on, will they work on my 08 raptor 700? I assume they will. Thanks from a newbie.
-
Yes there is virtually no difference between the 06-09 Raptors other than the 09s having a new dash but the lights are exactly the same...I have a similar set of HIDs on my 08 right now.
-
Already received them! Dam fast shipping

-
any update on other sizes or still waiting to hear back
^^^^^^
Any word on other applications. I'll settle the FERK down now.
-
A couple of questions:
Are these plug and play - as in I don't have to cut wires, just plug these in instead?
Will using these mean no more hi and low beam?
-
(http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp79/4gunz4x4z/photo.jpg)
You will definitely lose high beam. Which isn't a problem with these lights. They are super bright. If you want the high/low combo, I think they are going for around $180 a set, but thats not offered here on this group buy. This is the pic of the first set that was received by funyun, but they weren't a true plugnplay. I'm hoping this was an error and not some way of wording to make it appear to be plugnplay. From what I can see is the bottom pigtail in the pic has 2 leads, one hot, one negative. Simply take your stock connector and pull the wires out of it and push the new wires into the right inlets. Here is a pic of which color goes into which outlet.
(http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp79/4gunz4x4z/110609005.jpg) Shouldn't take more then 5 minutes to install on each side.

Warning this set does not come with a stock connector. You will have to use your stock connector with this setup or splice it into the harness. Using your stock connector will take you an additional 30 seconds to install over a "true" plug-n-play kit. Apparently there are to many applications for the H6M for just one connector. I can however get a true plug-n-play set from another vendor for $95 shipped.

Need astep by step install I can't splice shit.
I'm with him, I'm sure I'll be able to do it, just need instructions.
-
Not a problem. Im going to have funyun do a step by step and pics for you if I can get his ass to give me a call back. Funyun!!
Also the guys that want the Bi Xenon, which means high and low, I'm working on a deal right now. Should know something by Monday. I know I wouldn't want to put just low beam in my truck only. On my atv is doesn't matter.
-
Haven't had the chance to put them on again
-
gunny can you fire me the pm for these, and the pm for the hi/low ones when you get the details.
thanks
-
I asked the seller a couple of questions and here is his reply.
1st question. How much is the Bi Xenon kit? $75? correct
2nd Question. Is the Bi Xenon kit for the H6M only or is that for all dual filament light replacements? We don’t have the H6m in the bixenon as of yet
3rd question. Can we get any color in the BI xenon kit we 43K 5K 6k 8K 10K 12K 30K and green
pretty much all color except yellow, we can get yellows too if you really need them
-
Here is what you have to do to splice your stock headlight plug to the kit...
I will be reusing the plugs off my last HID kit but I can do another plug like this and show a few more steps to it...but it's very simple, cut off the ends, remove like 1/2" off the sheath on the end, tie the two wires together (black to black, red to green for low or yellow for high beam mode), solder and/or heatshrink it...I did both for maximum durability and connection.
-
Mine just arrived
-
everybody please do yourself a favor and buy dual wall shrink tubing for the splicing, i garantee it will never oxadize like the regular shrink will, and its cheap to boot.
-
everybody please do yourself a favor and buy dual wall shrink tubing for the splicing, i garantee it will never oxadize like the regular shrink will, and its cheap to boot.
Now is that like A-b-o-u-t, or really meant B-o-o-t this time ???
-
Put electrical tape on it too...I soldered the wires together first then used shrink wrap. The harness in the HIDs DO have a shrink wrap already on it but I didn't notice it was movable til I already shrinked the 2 small ones haha
-
no need for electrical tape if yuo use double wall shrink tubing, it has a compound that is released and seals the joint, and yes aaron "cheat to boot" is correct and has nothing to do with A_B_O_U_T. friggin wankers the lot of u
-
Did anybody get different lights for quads, I bought a set of 6k for my rappy and a set of 30k for my wifes 400ex, dam if they didn't send me 2 sets of 30k and then they didn't put any kind of check mark on the boxes to let me know they were even that. only the mailing list says 2 sets of 30k. Am I the only one that ran into this problem  :'(
-
You should email them and see if they will swap a kit out. 30k is WAY too high of a temp (and low light output) to be of use, and they are actually illegal for use as a regular headlight in some places. A cheap 3 dollar flashlights puts out more light than a 30k...No offense, I don't mean to knock you or your choices but just stating what I've seen on rice burners here.
-
Thanks for the input. I actually order the 30k for my wifes 400ex because she thought the color would look good. I then read a post or 2 after words and changed the order. somewhere, that got screwed up, hopefully it will get all work out
-
Ok, I'm sure as long as the kit is still in a resellable condition the vendor will swap em out....I've had to do that before on colored lights (not HIDs) when they sent the wrong one or it didn't look like the ad.
Let me know if you want some 6000ks, I have an extra set now of the bigger ballast style from the last GB, I am gonna try to put the slim ballasts on tomorrow but may keep the old bulbs in the housing and just swap plugs.
-
If something come up I let u know.thanks

who are you callin' wankers? back to your Log house Kama!!!

Bought 9 different sets
-
Has everyone got there's yet? I'm still waiting.
-
Funyun got his last week and I cant remember who else but I think a total of 3 have been delivered so far.
-
Mike, few guys a struggling to figure out where to mount the hardware, can you post pics of your mounted please?
-
Here's mine using a 6000k bulb and the new "slim" ballasts
(http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp261/Spartan700r/dab2e517.jpg)
I can take some pics of how I "mounted" my ballasts but let's just say a lot of zip ties are involved haha, I am gonna see how it holds up then either fab up a different mounting system or relocate some stock stuff...The cross member behind the radiator looks like an excellent spot but there are too many hoses and wires to make it fit without interfering with routing.
-
Hey Spider, got mine about three days after I ordered them. Came in US mail. I hope to get them installed this weekend. Can't wait to see them at night. Whats the scoop on the BiXenon? Does anyone have these? Do they actually have a low and a high beam? If so, I wish I would have gotten those instead.
Mark
-
I dunno, my HIDs now are pretty damn bright for "low beams", on my truck I have a similar kit at 6000k and I never have to use my high beams even in foggy conditions, and when I do they seem like low beams haha
-

Mark the BiXenons are for a high and low bulb replacement, but they do not offer them in a H6M size, the same size our raptors take. So it would have done you no good. I promise once you install your HID's you won't worry about a high beam, promise.
-
Mike, few guys a struggling to figure out where to mount the hardware, can you post pics of your mounted please?
I have the large ballast, but hopefully Funyun and Ranger will post up there pics of their installs. I'll snap a couple of pics tomorrow of my ballast.
-
I'm interested in some bi-xenon's for my 97 Taurus wagon dune-hopper. I'll have to check to make sure which bulbs they are, but I believe they're either 9006 or 9007.
I'll get back to ya on that one...
-
Well, here's how I did mine...yes I know it looks really stupid but it was a pita to do at night outside....I may relocate them to the radiator support crossmember once I figure out how to reroute the stock hose and wires going to the radiator without kinking or binding.

If I can sell my other kit to a local buddy with a stock 700 I will try to do a better install job on that and do a step by step write up...On these I just used the bulbs from the last ebay kit I had, which still works I just wanted a smaller ballast.

Can order 3 sets? 1 with diamond white bulbs, 1 with iceburg blue, and 1 with brilliant blue? Let me know how to pay.
-
Hey do we know what kind of lumens these are putting out? Also anyone know where to get some projectors that will fit in a raptor light housing?
-
Hey do we know what kind of lumens these are putting out? Also anyone know where to get some projectors that will fit in a raptor light housing?
A stock bulb puts about around 700 lumens, the 6000k HID kit puts out 1700 lumens. An average car headlight puts out between 900-1000. I don't have any idea where to find a projector kit for our bikes except overseas and the kit is around $1000.00. I'll see if I can find them again.
-
I got my hids today but i cant put them in until winter break this blows
-
Are these any better then the ones from the last GB besides a great price? I think I might pick up a set for the wifes quad
-
I would say honestly if you have the older ones and have them mounted as you like them, keep them...The new ones are slimmer yes but they have a big capacitor box on one of the lines going to the bulbs and it is annoying to have to tie them up too so I can't spool up the wires...They work just as well, I have both sets here and currently have the new ballasts mounted but I wouldn't hesitate to keep running the old ones.
For your wife's quad yes they are a good buy for sure, just takes a little more imagination where to put stuff at, as you see in my pics.
-
Are these any better then the ones from the last GB besides a great price? I think I might pick up a set for the wifes quad
Not necessarily any better, just a smaller design, for a more compact fit. Let me know if you need a set.

PM your way and thanks for joining the site.

What is the dif between the reg and bi xenon? I want a set for my 08 700. I assume the white would be the brightest but you know what assume did. Lol
-
Bi xenon means it has a high/low setting so for vehicles with dual filament bulbs (the same bulb with 2 filaments, 1 for high beam and 1 for low beam modes)...The "normal" xenon bulbs only have 1 element so high or low beam it is the same light output.

One question...I remember reading about some of the HID kits needing some kind of relay so the worked right or didn't flicker when the quad is at idle. Does anyone have any info about this, or if someone else has heard of this, could you please explain this to me? Just trying to make sure I have everything I need when these show up. Thanks
-
can someone that has made one put some info up abaout the relay harness for the raptor? I was thimking about making one just to be safe, but I cant think of the best way to wire it up.

It's not a very common problem and it usually related to a low voltage battery. Contact the seller via the email I sent you and ask him for a relay. Out of the 100ish or so that we have sold on our Group Buys, I only know of one needing a relay and that was on the old design. If I understand it right, it's a jumper from the green wire to the green wire from the right side to the left side.

I'd like a set of the 6000k, have a set on my streetbike and love em, especially for the price.
Hey gunz, do you live in okc? I saw your pic on the raptor rally tshirt thread and I know you from somewhere, just can't think of where. I live in moore.
-
I live in Mustang, but I grew up in Moore. Man I get around it's highly possible you know from somewhere. I've got friends eeeeverywhere.
-
Money sent for 2.
I'm gonna have to try get together with you guys on some rides. I picked up a wrecked 07se, couple months ago and fixed it up, now my problem is I don't know anyone who rides quads around here. Few buddies that ride dirtbikes, but that's it. No fun going by yourself, and i've had to shy away from the streetbike a bit because I couldn't quit getting tickets.

We're going to lake Murray Sunday if your up for it.
-
A few quick questions.
Aren't the 5000(OEM) lights brighter then the 6000(Diamond)? Or is there a contrast difference that makes the 6K work better?
Are these DOT approved?
-
Mine showed up in the mail today. Have to wait until the weekend to install them. :( Thanks for a great GB.
-
Anytime bro.
As far as the 5000k vs 6000k, it depends on the brand I'm guessing. The last group buy we did the 6000k was claimed to be the OEM. I ordered the 5000k as well for everything this time around. I ordered 6000k last time around and wasn't disappointed a bit. I have seen pics of 3 different brands side by side on 3 raptors and they all claimed to be 6000k's, but two of them had a real slight slight blue tint to them and the other was a bright white. So I don't know. I personally would recommend either one 5000k or 6000k, but I wouldn't recommend any other color for night riding.

The relay harness is used if your stock wiring cannot power your HIDs properly and they flicker when the bike isn't running or at idle. It is also used when you have a car or motorcycle with daytime running lamps. DRLs don't run at full power and the HIDs will flicker or not come on. It is recommended for ATVs and motorcycles to use a relay harness with a fuse in line.
The relay harness is used to run your HIDs directly off your battery, the actual relay is like a remote swith that is triggered by your headlight switch to let power from your battery through to the HID ballasts, witch will turn on your HIDs. I'm doing mine this weekend with the relay just to be safe, if you guys want some pics and a "how to" let me know. I can post it here or somewhere else if the moderators want me to.

Here is a diagram shawnz had posted over on modded raptor, pretty simple.
If you guys need it I'll still do a detailed step by step, just let me know.
Happy Modding.

How many of you are running your HID's without a relay with no problems so far? I'm having a problem getting them both to turn on at the same time and will be installing the relay tonight. Am I just one of the 'lucky' ones or did I just miss the boat and should have installed the relay from the start?
-
mine dont work without a relay either they both just flicker
-
All I know is everywhere you can get HID kits recommends a relay setup for atvs and motorcycles. If you don't have good even current going to the ballasts they won't work right. Might as well be safe and just put one in when you install them, it's not that hard.

That's what I was lookin' for. Thanks.

Here's a better way to mount your HID slim ballasts...Had my plastics off to take out some wiring from my Vapor and decided to fix my ballasts based on what I've seen some members do...I managed to mount mine inside of the frame on the upper radiator supports. Used zip ties of course  but they work great and are a lot easier than trying to fish nuts and washers on a bolt. And always make sure you check your clearance to the FAN on the radiator, that's why I used a long zip tie (the white ones) to pull all the excess length of wire as far away from the fan as possible.

Got my 4 HID kits yesterday! The two for my car and one for my raptor have black ballasts, look sweet and easier to hide away. Got one for my buddy since he's been wanting one for his car. His Is the silver ballast; he's like how come yours are black, those look sweeter. Lol, what a dork. Anyhow my relay harnesses got here today, gonna do some crazy wire tucking this weekend. Gotta figure out what to do about my auto headlights and DRLs though. Gotta modify the one I'm gonna use for the raptor though since it's made for a car, it will work good though. Have fun guys, I'm gonn take a bunch of pics of the installs so if anyone needs to see or know somethin, let me know.

Sleepy,
That would be great if you are willing. If you could let us know where you got the relay, that would be helpful for those of us who are a little in the dark about this stuff.
Thanks again!

Well got all the HID kits installed this weekend. I did take pictures with install, but I didn't have time to upload them to my PC and do a wright up. I'll do one this weekend, with how to use the relay harness. You can get these harnesses either from one of the many sellers of HID kits or search eBay for "HID relay harness". This should bring up a bunch of them. The connections to the ballasts should be the same. I know for a fact the 9006/9005 and the 9004 single xenon ones do. They are made for cars but works just fine, you can coil the extra wire up or shorten it. I
untill then if anyone has any questions hit me up.
-
Do a write up for us.
-
I'll get it done for sure this weekend. I'll post it in the, "how to" thread, and put a message in here letting everyone know it's up.
-
if you guys wanted, i could make a wiring diagram on how to build a relay harness, but i kinda think if have the ability to construct the harness, you should already know how to wire it ??? without my diagram, let me know shouldnt take much to whip one up.
-
Do it. 8)

I'll take a set for my '06 Raptor 700

Gotta get over here more often!

-
send me a PM please i want some before i change my mind lol!
45 bucks for the raptor HID kit with bulbs right??? just so im clear :)

Installed them last Sunday (no relay) and they kicked ass, everyone wants a set. I instantly became the late night dune leader and left everyone saying "slow down". Seems the longer the ride the more touchy they became. Sometimes flickering ... especially at low idol... and maybe just one of them shutting off and making me try to turn them both off and on to reset them. I did notice that one light would have no problem but the two lights occasionally became a job to keep lit. Riding steady with no idol was trouble free, it's if you need to bring to an idol or stop frequently it would require more attention. Maybe they just require a bit more as you run them for longer periods of time??? Who knows, but I am going to order they relay switch before my next outing so I don't have to worry about it (from what i'm reading in here) i'm guessing that will fix the problem.
Gunz, sent pm to you please send me the numbers to order for a raptor 660 and YFZ450 -> I think someone said the 450 is the same as the 700??? But send me a pm anyways.
Thanks again for the hook-up on this!
-
the 450 lights are the same size, however they need to be wired differently..
it's not an issue of fit with the bulb size, it's an AC to DC conversion. Here's the how to...

NICE!
Thanks for info C7, I'm guessing the 660 is just like my 700? I appreciate that very much.
-
gunz, do you have a list of the bulb numbers available in bi-xenon? Or is it the same as the regular list? I'm looking for 9004 for sure, and maybe H13 as well.
-
Russ you can get purdy much get any duel filament bulb you need in a bixenon. The h13 and 9004's are covered and they work off of a solenoid that moves the bulb forward for high beam, this keeps the bulb on so you dont have to worry about the charging time of the HID. Pm sent bro

the relay / harness will fix this up for sure.
You might need to trigger the relay with the tail light on the YFZ.
No big deal.
Did you guys get an e-mail saying that your lights shipped or did you pay and they just showed up?
One more thing - if you pics, please tell what color your bulbs are. It seems that there is some wide variance in what different sellers call 6000k. I have 5000k and 6000k on the way. I'll post up a pic to compare.
-
My wife ordered them through Paypal and I have no clue about the confirmation email, sorry. But I do know that it got here two days after submitting payment. Fast!
I'm gonna get a couple more sets before the Dec. deadline.
One for the 660 and one for the 450.
I ordered the slim 6's and they are waaaaaaaaaaaay better than stock!
-
Just sent payment for mine!
Does abnybody have the specs on the relay? I've got 1/2 dozen regular ol 30 amp relays laying around. That's all it is correct? (wiring it isn't a problem)

Any of those will be fine. I use a 20A fuse but realistically the peak draw is significantly less than 10A.
I figure all I'm really worried about is a short on the hot wire - and 20A lets me tap my horn and gps on the same circuit :).

How many of you guys have got yours installed?! Make sure to post some pics! :)

h6m isn't offered in a high/low beam. Sorry
-
no H6M bi-xenon :'(
probably REAL small market for this fitment.
-
got my raptor kit today whoop whoop
BTW they look like the BiXenon just in all black
-
Got mine today too!
-
no H6M bi-xenon :'(
probably REAL small market for this fitment.
Actually H6M is really common, but I don't have know why we can't get them in a bixenon.
-
I see no need for high/low on a quad myself.
I'm gonna wire mine so they come on when the switch is in either position. Guess that's where using the tail light wire comes in from previous posts. (Just dawned on me..)
-

No sorry was over a month ago. That was my thinking, I bought them for eveeeerything. I can't even imagine driving without them at this point.
