hold on Heffalump....Not blaming Walmart and big companies for the demand. But for some shady business dealings to meet that demand, I am. BIG TIME. They are about to ruin South Africa too. watch.....

I'm sure it does help some people....but...They do some shady things to get into these "depressed" communities. Such as forcing cities to give them tax rebates on the construction and property, since they will bring in all sorts of new revenue for that city, then building in a different zone, therefore city gets no revenue.... forcing towns to build streets to their store.... and spending countless hours on how to prevent unions,instead of just being nice to their workers...

Bet it does help depressed people..."helps" them get to those cheap Chinese built things you mentioned. therefore living a little easier.

note: I refuse to shop there, unless emergency requires it

my local wal-mart store gives thousands every year to LOCAL charities
not to mention all the kids that are allowed to push girl scout cookies, or popcorn, or whatever their orginazation is selling
or washing cars.. etc..
I NEVER see that at Target
(Side bar: I shop at Target, I like Target, and will go there usually before Wal-Mart for ease of access in and out faster)

The Wal-mart in St Johns MI wanted to go "Super" and the town said no because the road couln't handle it
so Walmart offered to pay for 50% of the new road..
town still said no..
Walmart said FERK you..
closed down the old store and built a new one outside of town..
no new road....
new store.. problem solved
stupid town.... you can't beat Walmart.. they win every time!

when someone says "I won't shop at walmart because:
they pay their people to low...
they sell too much chinese shit
or some other BS.. it shows they have not done their research
and honestly makes them look bad
Walmart on average pays 10-20% higher than its "Union" competitors (Meijer around here) for similar jobs
Walmart sells more american made products (probably because of sheer volume no doubt) than Meijer and Target combined
last check the percentage of chinese crap was about the same as everyone.. even local type hardware stores
again.. the volume is what makes them look worse

then people say
"My buddy is night stockker at walmart and he only makes minimum wage"
to that I reply..

But, My argument isnt that big companies are ruining things....it's that politicians cater to them, and that isn't always a really good thing for the regular guy.
