Krandall is correct, Less rotation mass = more useable HP

Parsitic loss is the enemy  >:D
On a smaller engine its more noticable than a 700
If the rider can't feel it doesn't mean its not there

I understand the formula.  But if I can't feel it, and I can't see a difference (ie. getting down the track faster) then it has no bearing.

For every one pound of rotating mass you take off your bike its about equal to taking 3 pounds of dead weight off.

I had the razr2s and sold them, not only were they heavy as sin, they would pack up with mud and become completly useless like slicks!!!! Maybe its the mud here, its pretty sticky, and it sticks in the tires like glue!

Maybe I'm just anal, but I want every last ounce of power/performance.

No problem with the mud and dirt here.  They really tear shit up.  I guess if you feel better in your minds that the that small loss of weight is doing something thats all that matters.

It makes me sleep better at night

Oh and the information that I posted above may be wrong. I have herd numbers other wise. Those are MANUFACTURES weights. And we all know how accurate those are.

Thats good.  But I have a feeling if I put your rims and tires on my quad it wont make a lick of difference when I get to the end of the track.  Sweet dreams.

Yeah, I'll let those numbers go in one ear and out the other.

You're just naive... that's all...

3-4 lbs on tires alone is not a small loss of weight ???

we're not saying they don't tear shit up. Hell, they have a f*ckin agressive tread pattern on those baby's. But, When you've done the big things.. That's where you have to sit down and go through the little things..

I only do the little things that I can see a difference with.  Thats not naive, thats common sense.

What is the rule?  For every 7 or 11 lbs of weight removed frees up 1 HP?

for a stock raptor (@38.5hp) with 190lbs rider it's 15.8 lbs/ per HP

rules or no rules, sayings or no sayings.  If I can't tell a difference, which in the tires I tried, I couldn't.  Its fucking pointless for me to worry about the extra weight of my tires.  And in the end my tires hooked up better then the others I tried.

Yea its something like that. You can do what ever you want, but I know I have tried about every tire out there, and XCR's is where its at. I will go out on a limb and try the GNCC's next season.

That great that you dont worry about weight, but some of us do and every little bit matter. No matter what people tell you.

There is alot of mods that you cant tell a difference, but you know its there. I put kennys valve on and didnt really notice a thing. Lookin at the dyno graph thats 4 hp that I am not feeling. Maybe my butt dyno is broken from you g a y phugger

I say if your happy with the feel and look of your tires, that's all that matters.  It's YOUR CHOICE, not the worlds opinion.  XCRs, GNCCs, R2's are all good (Proven) tires.

People should know me by now, I'm all for dumping money into my quad.  And I do like to watch the weight.  But when it came down to tires I couldn't tell a difference between the tires I tried, in fact my razr 2's hooked up better so that is why I went that way.  So for the tires I tried I went with the ones I could feel the difference, not the lighter ones.

And for me its just as easy to keep eating better and dropping the pounds.  That I can feel on and off the quad.

Its not always the bigger the better too. The BEST dirt drag knobbie tire out is the OLD 400ex stock tires. If you look at them they look like a piece of shit stock tire, but the hook like mad! If you have a pair laying around you could get big bucks for them because the stoped making them quite a while ago.

That is very true, it has a lot to do with how the rubber flexes.  I'll have to look up what those tires look like.  Do you know what year they were made?
