She seems down on power
« on: May 15, 2011, 08:31:48 PM »
Hey guys, I am on day two of our trip to St. Anthonys and the Raptor just seems to be a little bit down on power. I have Monster, Fuel ATV Intake and the PCIII. I am also geared at 14-36 and running 20 inch extremes 8 paddles.

If anyone has any ideas and/or a bad ass map for this setup that would be great.

Thanks,
Jay

It is probably normal from the high altitudes you're at.

Yeah, we live at 1900 so I believe that is some of it. I am going to double check the map, I have three for the monsters but it has been so long since I messed with the bike I am not even sure which one is in there.

Thanks again,
Jay

I think Hansen Performance is on the dunes and has a dyno, you should hit them up and see where you're at a/fr and power wise.

Hansen's dyno is an ego crusher, so don't worry about the numbers it reads

If they are here where would they be parked? Anyone have an idea of what it cost to have them check it out?

Thanks,
Jay

Hansen's shop is almost right acrros the street (and down the road ~1/8th mile) from the BLM camping area by the lakes.

Call them, per their website tuning is ~100.00 per hour. 1 hour should be plenty.

Power loss is 3% with every 1000 feet of elevation you gain. That compiled with a tune thats not right on will result in a bike that will not run right.

I went from Omaha ~1100' to colorado area that was about 9000'+. My bike ran well at my elevation, but at 9000+' it ran like crap.
Just a little 81hp trail bike.
