Time for you phuggers to come do some tree shoots..............and fear the bear
June 17-19 2011.
UPDATE:
Ok folks here some details.
Accommodations:Walden is dry camp, no power or water available. There is public toilets at Several areas. We will be camping on the north end in the trees. We will make sure to get up there early enough to grab area for us to camp together (as much as possible anyway). (If camping isn't your thing there are motels).
There is not much in the town of Walden itself, so pack groceries. There are 3 main towns/cities you will go through to get to Walden. If you come from the south, most likely you will go through Winter Park which has a safeway for food ~1.5 hours before you arrive at Walden. If you come from the central/northern part of Colorado you most likely come through Ft. Collins which is a large city with plenty of stores with food (~2 hours from Walden), if you are coming from the north through Wyoming, Laraime is ~1.5 hours N. from Walden with lots of stores.
Locating us at the dunes:I will create a sign at the only entrance with directions to our site for everyone to follow. Most likely I will also create smaller signs to simply follow also. You can park wherever/however you want up there..no sites per say (and no fees)
MealsI would like the meals from lunch on the 17th through breakfast on Sunday the 19th to be organized. Personally, I prefer to have each camp have the responsibility for 1 meal, that way the same folks aren't always cooking/preparing and everyone gets more ride time. MEALS DO NOT HAVE TO BE FANCY! Just substance for the masses. Let me know what you'd be interested in for a meal, and I'll keep track of it in this post.

DrivingThe Sand dunes are north of Walden (~10 miles) and the VERY small town of Cowdrey on hwy 125. The access rode is County Road 6e (CR6e), it will be just north of Cowdrey on the right. CR6e is ~8 miles long, it splits once prior to the dunes, stay right (I will have a RS rally sign at every major turn from 125 to the camp site).
If you are interested in riding along with another member, or following a member that has been to Walden before, let me know.
