2010 Silver Lake Sand Dunes - September 18th Day Trip

Taking a day trip up to the dunes on Sept 18th.  I plan on getting there early in the morning (around 8-9am) and staying till late in the day (6-8pm).

I think there are a few other people from the boards here going, just wanted to make this public to invite anyone else that might be interested.

I didn't plan on going because I never heard anything back from you guys...but I may make a day trip up Saturday am and head to my parents place in Gladwin after riding.

I can't remember, are vouchers done now too?  That would make life much easier.  I'm not sure if I will just throw the Raptor in the back of the truck or bring the RZR up too... I'm waiting on some spark arrestors for it, if they show up in time I may bring it out to see how it runs now.

Vouchers were over this weekend, we should be clear of them for next weekend (the 18th).

I'm going to be bringing up the old man with his Ranger XP and I think there is another little mule sxs coming as well but not sure who all will make it up.

Well, I talked to the old lady into switching days with one of the girls at work....so we are going to head up early Saturday AM (should be there around 10), ride for a while then head to my parents place to ride some more and check out the progress on the pond digging project.

My spark arrestors for the new Barkers haven't shown up yet, so I'm going to have to throw the quiet core/sparkies back into the RZR.  I'm not too fond of the sound with the quiet cores in...sounds like a mix between a Harley and a VW air cooled engine.  Without them, it sounds just like a Harley...but no sparkies = no entrance, so I'm kinda stuck for now.  

If I don't catch up with you guys in the parking lot, we will probably set up a canopy tent near one of the drag strips.  We are bringing the dog out there for the first time, so we have to have some kind of little camp setup...hopefully she doesn't get too scared from all of the noise.

Sounds good.  Looks like I'm leaving the old man's place around 6:30 with the group in tow, it's about a 2.5 hr drive so we should be there sometime between 9am and 9:30 depending on stops.  I will probably set up a canopy at some point in the day back in the parking lot.  If you see a blue/tan gmc jimmy with a 2 place open sled trailer that's me.

Still on for Saturday.  Weather forecast looks ok, 30% chance of rain and in the lower 60's.
