Gooseneck vs. Toy Hauler

I have no experience with one but I've heard weight distribution hitches do wonders for the swaying.  A gooseneck or fifth wheel eliminates that need and will pull better than the bumper pull.

It's not really what you are wanting to do but I'm kicking around the idea of a small ~25' 5th wheel with a 10' utility trailer behind it.  In my case, I have plenty of room for crap at my place so I don't have to store anything off site.  I have an 18' utility but I'd have to measure the overall length.  It is a more cumbersome setup but it's not something I will be hauling around all the time.

That's a little out of my price range but maybe it can be a VIP give away.  I like how there's NO RESERVE (ERMAHGERD!!!) but it starts at over a quarter million anyway.  Well no [crap] there's no reserve!

I'd say go with a enclosed trailer and get some cots. Seems like it would be easier to take care of, clean, store and wouldn't cost so much for gas. Not to mention it would be easier to haul. A toy hauler would be nice if you were going to use it a lot like traveling across country for the better part of a year.

I couldn't justify spending that kinda money for a toy hauler that would only get used once in a while, and an appropriate size truck to haul it, but if you can and that is what you want to do then by gosh just do it!

Good luck in your decision!

But just think about it, you could tow a rail, 8 quads, a rhino and all the gas, gear and tools you could need.

Disco...no, bad Disco.

Going to fast you always get trailer sway when hauling. I like the idea of customizing a gooseneck. It seems like a Toy Hauler is a great idea to take family vacations where you ride some and then you just spend time with family the rest. Maybe I could step back from a gooseneck and go a size down to a regular bumper haul, add a nice living area that is comfortable. I just like what Zbroz had. It was a place to live, microwave, tv and all that, then you have a large work area behind that. I dont want to be hunched over because I cant stand up in my trailer. If I could add a shower system to a trailer then id be set for racing, some of the events are 14+ hour drives and doing that sweaty and mud covered is something im not feeling. Then I can probably also keep a 1500 to haul it, ill just have to upgrade to the HEMI.

Keep talking, I like what im hearing, thanks for your post Preddy, that was good to know!

I thinking of buying one these, instead of the car I would fill it with 4 wheelers.

Chris you might think about of these as well, oh its only a million $$$.

I saw one of those on Top Gear.....F'n sweet!!

I'd haul my DBS in there, then pull a double decker trailer with the LS7 sandcar and the quads

Sounds like this would be perfect for you!

I'm not sure who makes them, but always thought they were a good idea. Its like a toyhauler with more emphasis on toys.

They are made by Forest River, a very good company IMO.  Same company makes Laredo, Cardinal, and Spinnaker.
