You had to watch it in Imax 3D Seg... totally different! The plot is kind of "meh" but the whole concept, the effects and the sound were amazing.

Saw Avatar finally the other night. Overhyped and Uber predictable. Felt like it was a kids movie. Disappointed bigtime :(

but...did you watch it.......................

ON WEED?

wait I know this answer...

I kinda liked it, it was cool. But the main story has so totally been done before.

the storyline is straight outta dances with wolves.

I called the movie Dances with Acid.

or dances with wolves meets tron.

Anyone see the new Tron movie yet? been thinking about checking it out.

frog69

Okay about TRON! in todays movie, a sci fi movie is all about visuals, special effets etc. the origianl tron was more about the visuals, and for its time was amazing. well this new tron is it seems to me more about the stroy then the visual. I guess it's easy to creast what they want now days. watching tron as a kid, the game scense were awesome. so when I saw the new one, yes the games were cool, but not long enough. you really had to watch the first tron to injoy the new one. and to understand it.  this probably did help, but that's what I got out of it. I'd give it a 7.5

Ok, here is a quick review of "True Grit".

Not a bad movie, but sure no "Tombstone".  I had high hopes for a good new western movie, and this one wasn't bad...but I expected a little more.  They tried to interject some comedy into it for some reason, which made it a little cheap IMO.  The story line wasn't funny, and they didn't need to try and make it funny.  The girl character is somewhat witty, which is a little amusing...but again, unneeded humor IMO.  Worth watching, but better at home on DVD instead of in the theater.

What made it worse for me was the crowd at the theater, I must have went on geriatric night...there were a TON of blue hairs who would bust out cackling away at every little witty comment.  Some of the cracks would make me smirk, but nowhere near the knee slapping, trying to catch your breath for two minutes afterward type of laugh that these people were getting...I think they need to get out a little more.  Plus there was one old guy behind me who must have been 93 years old...he had to get up to pee (and bump into the back of my chair) 3 different times, then he fell asleep near the end.  He woke up during one of the more tense scenes, and proceeded to ask what I'm assuming was his son "why did he do that?", "where are they now?", "why is he carrying her"?, etc, etc, etc, at full volume...I have never wanted to punch an old man so bad.

My opinion, 3 out of 5 stars for the movie...not bad, Jeff Bridges played his character well, Matt Damon was somewhat of a putts in the movie, and a little annoying at times...and the little girl was witty, but could have played a more serious role to make the movie better IMO.
