After two solid days in the garage and 3 pairs of hands we emerged with 2 running atvs.  The Black/White 660 belongs to my sister's fiancé (Zack) and had some valve cover damage after the cam gear and decompression mechanism came apart while it was running.  Mine, well, if you know me at all you probably know about my quad and if not well it's not really worth re-hashing.  Let's just be happy it's running now ;)

A few pictures of the ice setup, before we tore it down and replaced all of the font suspension and rear swingarm.

On the stand

Cam Gear and Decompression Mechanism carnage

New cam gear, cam, and BigDaddy Decomp pieces installed

OEM on left, BigDaddy setup on right...notice the keepers and new pins (threaded and nyloc nutted vs pressed in pin that falls out when you sneeze on it and took out the valve cover to begin with)

Why ASR ever used steel for their spacers is beyond me, but this one seized up.  Bernz-o-matic tip was too clogged to clean so we got a new tip after this pic was taken.

Zack handing my Father the one piece I forgot to tighten down, the chain slider.

Me on the rappy idling

Both quads

And for the naysayers ;) proof she runs now

NICE!  :nana:

Now let's see how long it lasts this time...And why is your exhaust so close to the tires?

Mad Dog

Thanks  :)

If you look at this pic you'll see that while the exhaust looks close to the tires in the side profile there's plenty of room for them in between the tires because of the wider axle.

Spartan

Nice, it looked like in the other pics that the cans were almost touching your tires...Looks good! You ever thought of rotating your cans to look like 700 style? I have seen it done on a 660.

Mad Dog

I'm kind of an old school guy, as evident by still owning a 660

I prefer the old exhaust tips to the new ones, and the old orientation of the cans to the new.  Plus there's barely enough room for the voltage rectifier between the battery box and left canister anyway, changing the orientation would require me to relocate that to the back of the battery box and I'd still be worried about their clearance to the battery box itself and the wiring passing through there.

Gunz

ALRIGHT!!! You're in for Saint A's right?      Nice suspension baby!

I didn't post the action pics because there were no helmets involved, and even though I was literally in the front yard I still don't condone riding without a helmet.  We have a rule at our house, no one is allowed off the property or even on the road without a helmet.  But since we've been using atvs for working around the property and as transport to and from the barn we have gotten out of the habit of wearing lids in the yard.

But here you go :)

Peelz

It lives!!!!

no helmet comments. I know you know better ;)
