I was thing How much dose load change your tune? I am at 280 with all my junk on and I mostly ride trails with some flat track, 300'Drags. If I leave the line in 3rd it puffs a little black\gray smoke (I think a little rich) but in 2nd no smoke just wheel spin. Now the spec 105cp 11-1 piston at 0 deck,+5 HR crank,HC3,+3TB,PCIII,+1 P&P Head, 15/36 with 20"ITP,110 race gas. with my LM1 wide band it has an A/f 12.8 with me on it, with a freind of mine at 185 it shows 13.1... This is at wide open in a 300' run. So it looks like it Dose to me... The bike runs Great and I am so happy with it so far.. Just looking for more info

I don't think your tune gets changed. But if you are in say 5th gear at a stop. (and assuming your clutch doesn't burn out) if you were to sit on the quad and stab the throttle. You should see tons of black smoke due to the motor not being in the rpm's it should be to effectively burn the gas being dumped into the cylinder.

(this is only a hypothesis)

I tuned with 14-38 gears and with lowpro dyno tires and I set the A/f at or as close to 13.2 but now with 15-36 and 20' tires it revs slower with my big ass on it.. So if the tune is ok then maybe it needs some more timing? what do ya think.

Colorado700R

i think it's just your gearing bud, try swapping back to the 38 rear?

Dales396LT4

Dont got me wrong it runs GREAT, it's 770 with 75+rwhp and 60+tq. With the 38 rear grear it tacts out in 5 and you are looking for 6. I leave most of the time in 3rd on 300' drags. I just need to understand why it changed the A/F

Peelz

doesn't sound like a/f ratio is changed, just bogging down.TIming might be a good guess. OR the TPS is off.  Strange.

Damned EFI.

I know that I said (Change) your tune, Maybe it throws it off some along with timing. Where is DL700 when you need him. Will a loaded dyno have the same map as a nondoaded dyno?

txredxj

arent all dynos loaded? thats why they use the rollers to put aload on the engine correct? to figre hp and tq. i know when i worked at a diesel shop with a dyno you could increase the load and simulate a loaded semi trailer to help with problems on power. its enough to kill a dodge cummins lol. most quad dynos are set load i think since they are mobile and self contained. the one they had was a room and used water for resistance and had 4 rollers. sounds like you have a gearing issue and not enough power. best advice would be to regear fot a taller second gear launch or a smaller third. its not a tuning issue really. thats why the have gears to keep the engine at a good rpm for power. ie why it launches better in second then third

Peelz

yep dynos are loaded. strapped down. Something else is up.

The more load thats applied against an engine the more fuel it will consume. On an open loop FI setup like whats on these 700s its not as accurate as a closed loop system like on most cars with O2 sensor and MAF.

I did some gearing changes (down to 14 in front) and it dose lean out some, as for riding trails it's a hand full. But in the 300' Drags it did launch better with me on it (left in 3rd shifted to 4th and done) 280 vs 180 with my friend on it revs out so fast he hit the rev limiter in 3rd going to 4th. The A/F did move with this gearing back to 13.0.. Next is to lean it out a bit with the 15 on front..

Dales396LT4

All dynos not loaded the same, on some you can add more load or add riding conditions as if you are on track. Most dynos read (move 500lb 1ft in 1 sec = 1hp)

Well shes down. On sat we went riding on a super bike track and at the end of the day I highside it, in the top of 3rd gear and she went over and over... Damn so the right side head light, steering stem, radiator, bars and top part of frame are all jacked up or bent or broke, as for me my right side ribs/back and sholder are banged up but  I will heal up in a week or two or three at my age healing is SLOWER... On a good note she ran great all day..

i think ur wastin race gas, i think u will be ok whit 93 octane pump gas, well thats my opinion .
CP piston 12.1
RE CNC head port

KW spring kit
+1 Ferrea Valves
FCI intake K&N
EVAC Valve
PCV w/Autotune

I am at sea level, with a 11/1 cp piston at 0 deck and had to cut the head some to get it flat, so c/r is around 13/1 if my math is right. I had tryed 93 on the dyno and it rattled the motor so we mixed with 110 50/50 and all is good.. I get the 110 at the gas station at $4.65gl
