i got a stock bore +5 crank. should i go with +1 or 2 valves. really thinking about doing a bigger piston later when i get my cylinder recoated later this year. right now cylinder looks good but i plan on redoing it later to take advantage of bigger valves.

I'm running +2 valves and love it!

Troy

I'd do the +2 head, there is really no drawback and you'll be all set when you go big bore.

VelociRaptor

If I were to run a +2 head I would combine it with a 54mm TB.

txredxj

i plan a bigger throttle body as well hopefully the come down in price so i can get one sooner. will i need to spec it out for a bigger tb?

VelociRaptor

I would, I have a couple of customers that are runnin the stock TB on my big port just savin up for the biggun.

Krandall

So.. I have to call you again. But. I scored a deal on some +1 valves (thanks again phuckhead)
Will +1's be beneficial with the x-2 and t-rex?

The Trex II has +1 valves so if you send em with the head Ill knock off the price if your upgrading from the Track port.

you will loose a little bit of torque if you go +2 on stock bore build.

I have to disagree with this statement if the head is done right you will gain both Tq and Hp on a stock bore build

I asked this very question to a very well known builder on the forums. If i could run a +2 valve on stockbore. he said you wont gain anything and he wouldnt do it since the valves would be to close to the cylinder wall.

My build runs +2 on a stockbore and runs with or in front of BB/strokers with no issues.

Can you grind the OD of the +2 valve heads down to +1 size and regrind the 45' face to get a +1 valve?

Reason I ask is I have a set of +2s and if they won't work I can get them reworked to +1s.

I think the builder is giving out wrong information.
