Guys and Gals, I am looking into my first build on my 07 Raptor. I am going through DL700, who is an amazing help by the way! I currently have Monster Duals, Fuel ATV intake, EVAC Valve and the PCIII and will be adding the list below.

11:1 cp piston
+3 mm throttle body bore
HOTCAMS stage 3
along with gaskets and cam install kit
Clutch rebuild kit
I may add through valve springs in the mix after I talk with DL700

I am making this post just to get he most information as I can from all of the guys and gals here that have done this before as I have not. So please give me any and all information and/or tips you may have.

Thanks in advance,
Jay

I know you've probably already figure out your budget, but I think a Bo port would really help you here, and save you time and Money down the road by doing it now

What's the best way to get ahold of him so I can see what he charges?

I think my biggest problems are going to be if the cylinder needs any work and getting a map when done. I am pretty scared to be honest as this quad has been GREAT to me with no breakdowns ever.

Thanks,
Jay

Bo is great, he'll help you with everything

Are you gonna do the build yourself? How many hours does the machine have on it?

I plan doing it myself and if I had to guess I would say between 60-80 hours as it does not get rode but a few times a year.

Just make sure you have a manuel to the bike. If not there is a link somewhere in here to get one for free. When i done mine i just had to hone the cylinder and it was good to go. I went with a CP racing piston 12:1 with a stage 2 hot cam. The piston woke it up a bunch. But if you are just doing top end its not bad at all. If you need any questions with it i would be glad to help. I do all my own mechanic work on mine.

Thanks for putting that up there Colorado. That saved me some money and time last time. I used the work printer to print it off so it didnt cost me anything just took like 45 min to print it all off

I guess I will have to talk to Bo and DL700 and see where we end up. Maybe I could get the hook up and send the head valve springs and cam all to BO and just hdo the piston here.

I'm about to do a tear down my girlfriends quad in about a month to do some work and it will officially be my first time getting into the engine other than the install of a cam.

I'll keep an eye on this thread, thanks!

Have u priced a piston for it yet or do you know what compression ratio you are wanting to go with?

I haven't yet as he would have to be mighty cheap to get it in the budget LOL. I will call before I do anything though. I am still trying to decide for sure if I want to rip into this thing, it has NEVER given me a problem and I don't want to start deal with those little issues. So yes, I scared to do it :'(.

Mine never gave ma an issue either Jay, and My current build is more involved than what your doing and it's rock solid.  The 700 is a very solid platform to build IMO.  Take you time, get quality parts, and you'll be golden.
