I would like to start off by saying hello to everyone here.  I have just purchased a new blue 2008 Raptor 700R and I am extremely happy with it.  I live in San Diego and have recently taken my new Raptor to Superstitions to go duning.  I loved it.  However, I am ready to start modding for better performance.  Initially I was very interrested in buying the HMF sport exhaust but after some further reading I am becoming more and more interrested in the Barker and Sparx pipe.  I will also be attaining the PCIII and some sort of intake.  Can anyone help me in which way I should go for an exhaust.  I was leaning more toward a single vs a dual.  I wanted to save on weight and just like the look of a single better.  Thank for your help in advance..

Colorado700R

welcome aboard!!

Dual exhaust will be the best route if you decide to go beyond just intake/PCIII(V)/ and exhaust.  We all start out saying we'll stop modding at those three mods....and we're all wrong

IMO, do it right the first time and get a set of duals.  Tim Barker is a member/sponsor here..and is quit frequently online to answer questions.

Check out our sponsors for making your purchasing decisions, and once again welcome to the speed junkie club. ;)

Like Colorado said.. Your best bet is go with dual exhaust. I am one of "Those guys" who said they wouldn't go farther. I had a full HMF exhaust. Looks, fit and finish were amazing. Sounds awesome too.. But granted the duals are a bit more spendy... On the butt dyno single HMF vs Duals you can feel it.

We have a great VIP Prize this month. Barkers Duals and a JVR Seat cover. $15 to sign up for the first year and $5 a year after that.

Dont let these asshats sway your decision. SOME singles perform just as good as duals, if not better.   Just do a little reading/searching and pick from their.

Either way you will spend aboutthe same. Aside from performance, think about what you want your budgetto be then there are plenty of single vs dual dyno graphs out there for you to see how much of a pipe you want to afford

What I am looking for is added HP, great sound, weight reduction and reliability.  I have to admit though, the duals are beginning to grow on me but I am still partial to a single.  If I were to go the dual route, I was looking at the Barkers and Sparks.  For the single route I am now looking at HMF, Sparks and LRD now.  My friend races quads and he says forget everything and stick with HMF.  A lot of people I have talked to say that HMF is best for race quads.  Is there any truth to this?  Does it make a difference on a Raptor.

I am not necessarily looking to just be a fast drag quad, I want it to be the best all purpose ride I can make it.  Thanks again for the help so far.  Keep it coming if you can.

Ok If price is not an option then you should take a look at any of the dozens of dyno graphs on this forum. But I prefer duals because we are one of the only bikes that can run them and have significant gains. Less weight would be a Curtis sparks big core single. I've heard good things about those pipes.

HMF has the best sound IMO. But, for performance reasons, the barker's seem to take it based on dyno results. I just don't care for the way they look vs. the price.
