Rectifier cover TDC plug

While tearing down the 700 today I went to take plug that you line up the timing marks and it just rounded out. :jaw: I tried a standard allen socket as I drove it in the hole and it rounded out to. What are my options here fellows. Remove the cover and drill it or does someone other good idea. Oh by the way its still in the cover and its tight as he**. Thanks Tony

Gunz

Notch it and use a flat tip screwdriver and a mallet. You can get a replacement from Steve at Tech Quad Shop. Also a yfz450 will fit too.

You can use a slightly bigger star (torx) socket on it as well...just hammer it in...

That plug really is a stupid design. Lots of money in whoever makes or more durable and fictional one. I'd buy it

Yamaha has one on their site now for the 700s in red, black, and blue colors...looks like they have a hardened core (inserted piece) on them.
