Me I had been riding this old shut down factorys land. Climbing rock piles jumping piles of dirt and rubble. Hydroplaining(skimming) mudholes. So I see this one in the middle of the old pavement parking lot. So I head to the other end of lot nail it come flying full speed in third hit 4th pulled back on bars and leaned back made it all but 5 feet across puddle. This is when puddle ended and I was catapolted off the quad into the air 6-8 feet come down on lumbar, pelvic area bruised pelvic and lumbar contusion and full body road rash.

My worst crash thus far on the raptor was....
Up at my parents house my brother and I have a little woods course we like to race around on. it's a huge loop taking you up hills down hills, through mud ect. tons of fun. Well it was the week before my wedding. Me on my rappy him on his 440ex. We decide to race around. made 3 or so full loops and I'm a solid half lap in front of him. I was coming around a corner where you have to side ride a hill. it's not to steep, but if you screw up your going into a huge apple tree. I get about 10' from the point where I have to ride the side of the hill. I hear a quad coming from my direct left. my brother is flying at me. about 20' away no way he's stopping in time. I just hold on and hope for the best. BAM! Runs into the left side of the quad. hits the rear rim and the nerfs. Sends me flying off the rappy into the apple tree. the quad makes a half tumble onto its side right into me pinning me in between a quad that's trying to finish rolling down a hill and the apple tree.  :help:

Riding my old 660 up a 80 foot tall hill climb at the badlands in Indiana: Saw a flag at the top and let off a little, 3/4 of the way up. my 660 sputtered and died....slid down the hill backwards at at 40 mph then rolled at the bottom. If I wasn't wearing my helmet, I am pretty certain I would be dead. frame hit my helmet and broke the visor.

wear you damn gear!

+1 on that.  Worst I have had so far wasnt even that bad.  We were out on the ice on Lake Wisconsin, studded tires.  I took off and got ahead of my buddies, and was putting along at like 5mph.  I took my hands of the handlebars and looked back to see where my friends were and i hit a rut, turning the quad quickly.  The quad bucked me off, straightened back out, and somehow i ended up underneath the quad.  Well the rappy and it's stupid first gear kept chugging and proceeded to cheese-grate my leg with the ice studs, it was unpleasant.  Friends caught up to me and were laughing their asses off .  Needless to say, I don't let go of the handlebars anymore.

Fun crash was drag racing a friend on the ice in a big ass parking lot they had plowed out on the ice.  He took off, had better grip so was in front of me, i was slowly catching him, then all the sudden i really reeled him in.  He had slowed down.  I wondered why he had slowed down, then realized we were at the end of the lot where the snow plow had piled up the snow.  I probably hit the snow pile at 30-40 mph, luckily i had enough time to ready for impact and kind of jumped when i hit it.  I guess i did a couple somersaults in the air before dropping into a nice fluffy pile of snow.

back in 07, i was prerunning for an upcoming race, so im goin 4th gear through a dry creek, curves around trees but pretty fast so at about 100 feet from a long right turn, my left wheel locks up and im like  :jaw: so the tire starts to dig into the sand and it starts to turn right so the rappy throws me to my left from all the inertia but somehow i turned 180 degrees so now im flying back first into a giant dry tree with branches hanging all the way to the bottom, i remember just me breaking all the branches with my back, i open my eyes and the raptor is upside down ontop of my legs and im like   then my buddy that was behind me like 1 mile comes up and helped me flip over the bike so by then im pissed and i wanted to know why the wheel locked up   so i look and the caliper was stuck between the wheel and the spindle. i had no extra bolts so i had to use zip-ties about every half mile because they would break and the wheel would lockup again

6 years ago I had just left work on a friday afternoon doing about 45-50mph on my '99 GSXR 750 and a 17yr old kid failed to yield as he made a left turn in front of me. with a second to react all I could do was hit the brakes and close my eyes.  Hit the car right at the A-pillar on the month old camrey and stopped dead in my tracks.  Tore my right knee open, you could see my knee cap. Lasirated my liver, bruised ribs, lungs, intestend and kidneys.  Thought I had broke my left arm and leg but didn't, got careflight'd to the hospital where I stsyed in ICU for a week then moved to a regular room for 3 more days after that. 80 some stiches inside and out to close my knee up. Out of work for another 3 months.

I'll try and post some pics up later. I know its not a dirtbike story or anything...but

yep, crashing into snow is great!  Nice fluffy pillow of snow!

I see some people mentioned sportbike crashes.  9 years ago i got my first sportbike (had old honda streetbikes before), a brand new 2001 YZF600R.  No lid, short sleeve shirt, hit gravel going around a corner at a pretty good rate of speed.  I was wedged under the bike (lowside), so it did a number on my left side.  Here is a picture of the bike and my arm.  I know it doesnt look bad, and I have a picture of the left side of my body (much nastier), but you guys really don't want to see that.  Luckily i was ok.  Insurance totalled the bike, I bought an R1, and never rode without a lid and coat again.  Just recently sold the R1 for my Roadstar Warrior.  Got tired of wheelies and the tickets that they brought...

If you ride long enough crash is coming. It's if one happens but when especially if you ride two way trails. I've almost been hit head on by mud trucks and rail buggies at haspin. I was almost head on'd by a dne buggy riding wrong way on mx track once.
