Gunz

The wife and I filed for divorce, put the house up for sale, and split up the bank accounts all before lunch today. We agreed to joint custody. I'll be paying her $1500/month alimony for the next 6 months.... my idea. I put up my last semi for sale today.... The trucking company is being dispersed and will no longer exist. My PDR company will continue to hold on...... by its teeth. I gave her one of the pickups and told her she could have it until I buy her something of the same quality or better. She only wants some of the furniture, but it's gonna be weird when I come through with a moving crew and take the rest. 3800 square feet of empty house is going to be heartbreaking, to her and I. I asked her 4 times today if this is what she wanted and she said yes. At first I thought this was what I wanted, but now know I want nothing to do with divorce. I just want my wife, children, and life back. I am truly heartbroken and on the verge of self destruction.

16years... gone.

Aww man :(

Sorry to hear gunz. This is just depressing to hear all of these divorces going through lately. I don't know if it's a sign of the times or due to the economy or what have it. I hope everything works out. Especially for the kids. There's a lady I work with that got a divorce after 20 years. It's been tough on their daughter. We're here for you. And you have lots of our numbers if ya need someone to chat with.

This is coming from someone who knows very little about your and nothing about your wife, so keep that in mind.

I really think that alot of people in this position need to get back to the basics. When I start getting down on my old lady and start thinking about what it would be like if we were apart I just stop thinking about work, school, money, the house, all that BS and think of all the good times we had. It may sound weird, but just think of her as a person with feelings and needs, not just your wife. Do something special, take a day off work, go to the zoo, get a hotel for the night, and get a good dinner. Dont talk about nothing but you two. I've seen this happen alot in my in-laws family. Financial problems are the death of a marriage and I hate it. Everyone needs to keep in mind that money does'nt matter shit if you dont have family.

Mike, right now go out and rent The pursuit of happiness and watch it with the old lady. Its a AWSOME movie that focuses on the bond in a family. Everytime I watch that movie I always forget about all the BS in my life and focus on the loves of my life.

Best of luck with ya bro

Shawn...+1 on that movie! You will want to cry 1000 times during that one. lol But towards the end you start thinking "what would I do"? Then you feel pretty good about life, no matter what is going on for at least a little while.

You need anything, let your internet bff's help you out.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

I'm lost for words for once.  I knew about this when we talked the other night and its still on my mind.  I can see how its affecting you but I'll be there for you next month bro.  I am also a phone call away.  If you need a break head this way for some more pizza or a night out downtown.
