I was wondering how often, which way,and what kind of filter you running ? Just curious to see if different types get cleaned differently or if it's basicly the same k&n vs foam style

I clean my K&N every time I ride.  Probably overkill though.

Spray with K&N cleaner, let set 20 mins.  Rinse out with warm water (from the inside out only).  Let completely dry, then re-apply light layer of K&N filter oil.

I clean my stock foam filter once every 5 rides probably...

I clean it in gasoline, then let it dry and spray it with filter oil

Colorado... from everything i have read about K&N filters.... that is the worst thing you can do for filtration with a k&n... the k&n's actually need to be slightly dirty to achieve the best filtration...

as for me i used to clean about every 5 or 6 rides... since i got my pro tec lid... i have about 10 hard rides on my filter and it still looks like the day i put it on... the filter oil is still blue... not even dirty yet...

Yeah,I clean my FCI filter every 4-5 rides. This dude that was riding with us Saturday told me to clean every ride. Thought that was a little much. I been thinking about one those lids idk if it'll fit though. The FCI airbox is lidless. And the fliter is huge almost touches the seat when closed.

Same for me.  It may be overkill but I would rather be safe then sorry.  And I paid some good money for my quad and I'm not mister money bags so I'm going to do anything I can to make it last.

My pro design foam, every 4 or 5 rides, depends on how dirty it looks, its a pain to clean with getting Bel ray oil in your hands and trying to clean it off!

When it looks like it's getting dirty. I still have not had any problems with dirt getting in either.
