Finally got the Raptor 700 back together. Fired it tonight and it idled fine, but once I barely touchted the throttle and let off it doubled in RPMs and stayed idling very high.   ???  I checked thru the PC5 and it was idling at 2000 and after bumping the throttle it jumps up to 4000 and stays there until I shut it off. Also, I know my current map if off and need to run the autotune to get it right but the headers were glowing red hot after about 15 to 20 seconds.   ???

Here is what I have done. It has a 105 bore with CP10.75 piston, X4 cam and Racers Edge port job, +1 valves, +3 throttle body

I checked the throttle cable adustment.
Also set the TPS.
Then connected to the PC5 and reset TPS valves
Enabled the autotune and setup the wideband sensor.

I am stumped and could use some advise so please chime in.   :help:  Also, if I left out any details needed just say and I can add.

Thanks,
Matt
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

I had the same problem with my build. Throttle and air screw adjustment helped but it still idles about 1900 but it would shoot up to 3000 after a few seconds before. I still have yet to do the tps as no one can tell me the wires to back probe. They are all black. But I assume it is port 1 & 3 but haven't checked it.

Set the tps and adjust the throttle out adjust the air screw out also. Maybe you will have better luck than I did. But 1900 is better than 3000 for me. I don't know what it factory idles at.

Hope this helps

I give that a try. Thanks for the input.

Also, you asked about the TPS wires, I posted this on page 2 of this thread. http://www.raptorsource.com/forum/index.php?topic=4739.15

Positive on middle wire, negative on top wire.

Ok I live outside of San Antonio.

Also, I found the problem with the rappy.  It was the gas tank putting the throttle cable in to much of a bind. Re-ajusted and good to go now.

Glad you got it. thats what I was going to say, thats what I found with mine when I first started mine after the new build nearly 2 years ago!  ::) crazy how touchy that cable is.

good to hear. My 660 had the throttle cable in a bind. I rode it that way.  turn left=full throttle. It was fun .   ;)
