A Panavia Tornado was shooting the pattern near the Air Force base in my backyard Thursday; reminded me of the Lambo clip.

A Panavia Tornado was shooting the pattern near the Air Force base in my backyard Thursday; reminded me of the Lambo clip.

I've never seen a Tornado (other than the kind we get during thunderstorms). I see A10's F16's, 15's, 18's, and all sorts of military fighters/transports on a daily basis being 1 mile from the local Air National Guard base here.

I haven't figured out yet what the hell a Tornado was doing here; my understanding is that no country on this continent flies them.
They are cool as hell - like a smaller version of the old F-111.

Most likely the German FWIC (Fighter weapons instructor's course) are out playing with the USAF.  Usually they do it at Holloman AFB, but who knows?

The F-111 was a huge bird. Most of them are in Australia now.

Think F-111 but F-14 sized.

The rear tire on the F-111 is almost up to my waist......I'm 6'2''. I remember when Reagan sent F-111's to bomb Libya.
