How bad is this cylinder?

When i took it apart it didnt smoke, cause i just put new rings in it about 2 months before. But this cylinder seems pretty trashed, i know my friend over heated it alot so thats probably why it looks all white... Is that true? What do i have to do to fix this cylinder?







And notice the little nick on the side of the piston? On the far side... Is that worth replacing the piston over too?

They are both toast.  Cylinder could be sleeved or replated (good time to go big bore) but the piston is a paper weight.  "White" spots are where the plating is gone and bare aluminum remains.

Guys when I did my tear down my cylinder looked fine with no damage, but after a week or so it has a spot that looks something like what im seeing on this guys cyinder. Tell me these spots dont just "appear". I need someone to say "if you didnt see it when you took it off then its fine". Anyone?
