yea it ran ok after everything burned out (carb cleaner).i took it up the block, opened it up,let it idle.everything was all good.then while it was idleling,it missed once, then twice.so i gave it gas and it tried to cut off.so i gave it more gas and it seemed it wanted to just bog out and die and thas what it did.so i started it back up and it bogged when i gassed it and died again.then i just left it.didnt get the time to work on it today cuz i got tied up with my kids.but i can tell you i did get yelled at by my wife because the smell of gas and carb cleaner mixed with burnt oil was so strong that all the windows, and garage had to be left open all day while i was at work...lol...

pull them out, they will have a number on the side. For your mods, they should be 22.5 or 25 pilot. with 150 and 155 mains. Unless dynojet, then numbers would be different.

ok cool.yes they are dyno jet.gna do that today.raining heavy here so i will definetly have time...question-is there any type of fuel filter on these bikes.mine is an 03.sumbody told me to check that, but i do not see where there is one.is that because its a carb that one is not needed? ???

Is ther ean in-tank fuel filter? If not.. I'd splice your fuel line and add your own filter in, super cheap,  you can pick one up nearly anywhere for 3-5 bucks

I'm thinking one of the carbs is being starved for fuel.

Or, maybe parking brake or clutch sensor is shorting out? Long shot.....

im gna also look to disable pb sensor.gna check my plug too.is there any way (preferebly the easier if poss) to check if carb is being starved for fuel..?

My comments regarding the floats were with the thought that lack of fuel might be your problem. If you pull the intake tubes/boots (between carb and intake) off the carb, you can manually choke ( with your hand, or a clean/flat piece of plastic or something, cut off the airflow to the carbs) the carbs. You should be able to see/feel gas on whatever you used to choke it if you're getting gas.

I was getting gas in my right carb, but not the right last I fucked with this. I could get it to run if I had it choked, but wouldn't stay running for shit. I would definately take a look at the size of those jets - people don't always have their carbs setup right. Peels is on point for sizes. Might have to go up or down a bit on the mains depending on where you're at.( A lot of times you can find bikes cheap due to this, people not wanting to deal with a 'no-start' that could be a simple carb issue...)

Also, take a look at what clip the needles are on. I don't think this is really your issue, but it's good info to have in your head, and easier to find out while you're already in the carbs lookin at the jets.

 Wondered about the fuel filter myself...anyone KNOW on these ? Gotta be in-tank, right ? Weird...

ok,that sounds easy enough...dont mean to sound foolish, but what are clips?

i took out my spark plug and the tip was white-ish in color.so i swapped in a new one and.i pushed the choke lever all the way to the left, and she started rite up.was ideling very high even kinda fluctuating, the cut off after about ttwo mins.then i started rite back up,and then tried to bring the choke down to normal level and she cut off.then wouldnt start back up.so i took off the two hoses leading to the air filter (the third hose is just loose because i run with an exposed air filter) unscrewed the four main hoses, and flipped the carbs over.i did it in a way so i could see f both bowls had fuel in them.both had more than enough.so i proceded to unscrew the jets to check the numbers on the side.on one jet, there was a number of 22.5.i tried to unscrew the other, but only the top came off.so i used my #8 wrench and unscrewed the bottom half, and i did not see any number on it.im gonna look again-unless thats not the one im supposed to unscrew.gotta check the post in here that tells me exactly where to look.i may have done something wrong....unless that means that that jet is stock...gotta do some more investigating..

Hmmmm, so sounds like you're getting gas TO the carbs just fine...  ??? Maybe it's just the jetting that's out of wack ? If you play with your idle adjustment screw will it calm down the idle a bit ? Or was it just revving like crazy ? Have you checked your valves recently ? I think Valve lash is like .15 - .20 ? I forget, but I think it's listed on your airbox lid ?

The jet that's a 22.5 is your 'pilot' jet. (longer, needle kind of thing) Each bowl will have one of these, as well as a main jet (small hockey puck shaped kinda things). You need to check the sizes on the mains. The 22.5 pilot is OEM size for the pilot, the mains are probably 140/145 or something like that ? To take the pilot out you need a screwdriver and an 8 mm (If I remember right?) wrench. The mains should come out with a screwdriver just fine.

One of the bowls has an extra jet for the choke. Don't touch that one, (except to clean it) should be fine as it is. When you remove the jets, clean them as well as possible, those NEED to be clean for your bike to run right. That should be part of cleaning your carbs everytime.

The 'clips' I was referring to are on the needles. On the top side of your carbs (not used to lookin at 'em right side up huh ? ) there are two round black plastic caps. Inside there there is an assembly consisting of a membrane with a gray plastic piece down in the center. If you (slowly, carefully, there's a spring under each that you NEED) pull these out you can access the needles that feed the gas into the carb. You can adjust the position of the clip that hold the needle in place. This raises or lowers the placement of that needle. If you are doing this, be very careful not to rip the black rubber membrane, and lay it out just how you took it apart, cause there's some little ass pieces you'll wanna know how to get back together !

I think maybe you need to bump your jets up in size ? I would get ahold of size 25 pilots (you've already got the 22.5's from Yami, so you're good there), and maybe one of every jet size from 145-165 You shouldn't need the higher ones, but they are nice to have on hand ? Buy these from like 'jets-r-us' online or from a local shop (many different powersports places will stock Mikuni jets). This will generally be cheaper than buying a 'jet kit' from DJ or something. I pay about $4 for mains, and $7 for pilots.

Also, take your A/F screws back in all the way, then like 2-2.25 turns out again ? See if that'll help too ?
