When running through the gears fast, it has a very quick hesitation to accelerate right when I let out the clutch and wham the throttle.  Haven't checked the plug, but would I be lean or rich? how would I adjust my programmer?

Local drag races, no 700 class, ill be racing the 800's.  Any quick tips/setups? Id like to lower the front end, but don't have time to order the shock lowering kit. Lower the rear to?/flip link?  Take off in 2nd or 1st? I don't want to waste time running out of 1st gear to fast and just going right to 2nd.

thanks guys, Luke

A. that cobra FI controller ain't doing you any favors (Bogging generally means too rich IME)

B. If you want a slightly lower feel, take the front pogo shocks to there lowest preload level.

C. I assume you doing 300' drag racing? Try a 15 tooth front sprocket, and take your rear air pressure to about 3lbs.

D. Launch in second, 1st does you know favors for drag racing.

Keep an eye out for a used Power Commander 3 in the forsale section

I would deffinetly get at least a pc3. If your having a hesitation like that its probably rich, Therefore i would think launching in 2nd gear with a 15t might not work to well because of the stumble. I would stick with a 14t front and try a 2nd gear launch.I have done some 300'drags and im not a big fan of the 15t for it. JMO good luck though

I agree.....  You have to hold it wide open....  Here in NC, we race on dirt (clay) and I tried the 14t and 15t back to back with a 38t rear and the 14t is 1 to 2 tenths faster...  If you go to the 1/8th mile asphalt, then yeah 15t / 36t....  The main thing is to go and run, have a good time, talk to people, and learn by trying different stuff for yourself.... That way you never forget it...  Good luck bro...

I still say 15 tooth, you guys have cams, therefore your overrev is much better.  I find that I'm faster and stay within my power band better with my three mod with a 15T.  But, try both.....it's like $12 to find out what works for you best.

Hey Ive gone to a 15t on my 6mod and it runs harder and hooks up better I think than the 14t but for launching in 2nd gear Id stay with the 14t. Ive got a similar question about the hesitation. My plug is clean and the quad runs strong bottom to top but when im on and off the throttle it seems to sneeze and stall between idle-3000 rpm what could it be??

hmmm, I'd look at your 0-20% throttle cell settings on your map.  I'd try lowering them by 3-5% and giving it another try. (make sure you save your original map first).

Thanks man I'll give it a try tomorrow and let u kno how it worked out.. How about the plug coming out clean like I didnt even use it?? Quad runs strong from bottom to top too

how old is the plug??? generally takes a couple hours before you can get a good chop on them.

Raginraptor

The plug has been on for 3 hrs of trail riding, Hill climbs and high speed runs

I got the map from someone with similar mods that had their quad dyno tuned but the map seems lean compared to the maps ive seen on the database. The pcv's closest map would b the lte's with open lid and pro design and that map is much richer than the one sent to me.

send me PM with your mods listed, I'll look at the maps I have that might work for you

Raginraptor

I tried lowering the numbers 3-5 and it stalled easier than before and still hesitating however I did add some fuel and it didnt stall as easy but still hesitates  ::)
