who else but rk

first day i had my blaster, i took it out to some sand pits. it was my first quad and first two stroked and the sand pits was full of sandy burms and hill climps so i was super stoaked. i was loving the quad. i decided to get a little ballsy as some banshees came in and started ripping some rutted hill climbs. i went up one in 3 wfot and at the top it just kinda tipped over. just went to its side. i still had 10 feet before the hill was flat and the bike was flooded so i had to push it all the way up. after that, i inspected the damage- broken handle bar, brake lever and right fender

I want to hear, and I want SAND84's story from the Rally way back when.

Ok I got a new one. The second reason why Joker had to replace my frame.

Short and sweet. I was riding with my buddy Troy. Absolutely destroying him on the trails.

"wah the rocks you kick up are hurting me" "wah, youre too fast so its not even worth me trying to keep up" Well, he finally caught up to me.....

After waiting on a berm next to the trail system for Troy to mosey on up. He waved me ahead and I opened up 770cc's of Raptor goodness. Once again glancing back Troy is nowhere to be found within moments of me dumping the throttle. Turn after turn im running between 3rd and 4th, dashing through the trail system praying that I dont head on with someone. Much like McDonalds, "Im lovin it".

As I come into 4th on a straight ive hit too many times in recent years I learn the term water-bar for the first time ever. I scanning ahead looking at any obstructions and much to my surprise its a smooth flat trail, until.....

It looked even enough, not even a lip to it. Deceiving as hell and deep as a trench from WWI. By the time my front wheels came over it all I felt was the front end drop. I wasnt blipping a throttle, no weight shifting to get me over it. I didnt know it was there until I was in it. The quad came forward, almost vertical on its front end the tires decide they are going LEFT. My body decides it would like to keep going straight......directly toward some very painful looking trees. I shut my eyes as I rolled onto my shoulder. The quad came out from under me so quickly I forgot I was even riding one in the first place. All I could think of was the trees, they are waiting for me only 10-15 feet away.

Sliding on my shoulder and side the helmet saved my face, boots definitely saved my ankles, pants left me without a scratch. Jersey......lets just say, buy armor if you're going to ride aggressively.

As I had my back turned toward the trees and no control to get my spine out of harms way I tightened up, trying to stiffen my back to take the hit away from my spine. Not once thinking of the words "paralysis" I just knew that I didnt want those trees and that part of my body to unite. But I kept sliding...

Off the edge of the trail I waited for the impact, then down the hill to the bottom where I came to a stop with nothing, no trees, no rocks. I felt fine for a second. When the adrenaline wore off, dear GERD sir......dear GERD, THE ROADRASH was unbelievable. Id rather set my arm shoulder and back on fire than do that again. I rocked back and forth with my eyes closed trying to dismiss that fact that I may be seriously injured or bleeding out at that point. Then realizing that dying isnt the best thing I could do at that moment I wondered where Troy was and opened my eyes to see the layout.

Im at the bottom of the hill off the trail. MY SEAT is 60 ft away down a steeper hill. My Raptor is upside down (I  you not) hanging in a group of trees only 6-7 feet from me resting spot.

Troy shows up coming down the hill yelling "what the  happened??" He comes to my side and the first noise he makes is "ooowwwffff".

My jersey is shredded like swiss cheese. And so is both of my forearms and my whole right side, until you get to my pants. Im bleeding, but only one spot wont stop bleeding on my forearm where it cut the vein. Rocks and mud filled all the cuts and I just wanted to get the heck out of that spot.

Grabbing a sappling in front of me Troy tried to help but I slowly with one arm worked my way up raising off the ground.

The atv was immovable. So completely intertwined I couldnt move the thing. And no strength left to dead lift 500 pounds over my head I was up a specific creek with no mode of propulsion.

A group of Utility people out enjoying the scenery came upon the scene and with the 8-9 of us we got that quad out of the trees, up the hill and then assessed the damage.

Damaged found at the scene:

Handlebars - fooked
Steering stem - tweaked
Controls - all over the place
Headlights - broken
Seat - not installed

Damage found at home:

3 major splits in the frame, both spines and the rear bracket for the gas tank split in two

Items lost:

My digital camera was under the seat -  good luck finding that

Now......if you think I stopped riding that day because of some missing skin, a severe burning sensation, possible infection and (from what I saw) minor damage to my handlebars, you are wrong good sir.

I spent 4 more hours on the trails. At first I took it easy, then I was right back into my 3rd and 4th gear passes, never went back down that trail again though.

My main story I have is....

It was the week before my wedding. We were having the rehearsal dinner at my mom and dads. So I went up there Friday night to help clean stuff up in the yard and get it all lookin spiffy. Saturday came along we had everything pretty much done. So my bro and I decided to go tear around in the woods behind their place. I have a small track back there, just XC style w/ a few jumps. I was on the rappy and my bro was on his 440ex. His was all stock suspension so he couldn't keep up very much. We were doing 10 laps. First to cross after 10 won. (bragging rights lol) So. We're going, the entire race I was beating him, every turn we took I'd slowly get away farther and farther. We were on the last lap and I was to the point where I couldn't even see him anymore roughly 1/2 lap back. I'm flying down the last straight away that sort of crab walks the side of a grass hill. When I was towards the beginning of the last straight, I thought I heard something to my left (quad exhaust) but ignored it, just figured he was rippin it up trying to catch up. I get to the crab walk spot. I'm like 1/2 on top of a hil 1/2 angled down a hill riding sideways on it. I hear a quad to my left. Look, my bro had taken a short cut through the middle of the woods to "beat me" I locked up the wheels. he was flying to fast 25ish. He hit me on the left side, rappy dumped me over down the hill into a crab apple tree. the one w/ the spiney thorns all over. I was thrown into the tree, the rappy tumbled like 3/4 of the way and was trying to continue rolling. So it had me pinned in the apple tree between it and the tree. This was about 2 years ago. I have a couple scars down my back from the tree scraping me and one bigger one on my hip where the tree actually tore skin off.

got home washed up was super sore... The wife comes out and starts yelling at ME because I was being wreckless!!! WTF?!   my brother hit ME!!!!!!!!!!!

that's my story.
