Between an 06 Raptor 350 w/intake/jet/hmf and an 04 kfx 400 stock?

probably bet on the 400. very nice machines. but not by much.
Krandall: "peelz. I'll be real with you. As much as I hate on you for soccer, I really don't mind it"

Yeah I thought that may be the case. I have a dirtbike that I wanted to trade for a quad, and those were the 2 offers. The raptor is from original owner and looks and runs like new. Plus it already has the pipe, intake, and exhaust, as well as a front widening kit, and brand new Maxxis Razrs. The 400 is a kids quad and needs new plastic and tires, and who knows what else. I'm leaning towards the Raptor for reliability. I just don't want to get anything that will feel like a slug. I don't need a screamer, just something to have some fun on and the occasional trail ride with my family.

Colorado700R

the 400 would definitely win, the raptor 350 is basically the old Yamaha warrior.  But for reliability, that 350 is hard to beat.

We ride with friends who have 2 '06 raptor 350s. One has a GYTR exhaust, intake, and jetting. My daughter's stock z400 pulls away from it with ease. Even more when they race up a hill. The rappy 350s are good little quads, but power is not their strength. You can only expect so much out of a 2 valve engine.

The 400 ftw, not only because of the engine, but thew shocks are also alot better. As well as the feel of it..

I had a 350 for a while, then rode a 400 and wished i would have just gotten that, and my 350 was modded to hell.

I went with the 06 Raptor 350, it was by far in the nicest shape. It also had a higher KBB value than my bike or any of the other quads that were offered in trade. I took it out yesterday for a little ride and I think that it will do fine for now. If I find that I really need more then my wife just got a new quad...LOL. Thanks to everyone for their input.
