Very cool to read about the history and traditions of your towns!

Mine: Fort Smith, AR Population 80,268 (2000)

My hometown has a lot of history. Founded in 1817, Fort Smith served as a military post to keep the peace between the Osage Indians and emigrating Cherokee in the neighboring Indian Territory....It served as a Confederate Fort during the Civil War, and was the site of many Civil War battles (One was right down the street from my home in my housing edition). It was home to the fierce frontier US District Judge Issac Parker (appointed by President Ulysses S. Grant). He sentenced many notorious outlaws and renegade indians to hang in the gallows still standing today. Fort Smith was also home to William O. Darby, founder of the US Army Rangers.
