Still one of my favorite looking Jets.

We had two at our last airshow.....One on static display, and one for a demo. Extremely noisy bird.

Wicked fast, with a TERRIBLE turn radius with those short wings.

Yeager lost the tips of his fingers due to a flame out while tying to break an altitude record in the F104. The F104 was used up until 2004 by Italy, and the late 90's by the Luftwaffe.

The F104 had the 20mm M61 on the nose. 6,000 rounds per minute....Nearly identical to today's F22 Raptor....Just a lighter version of the same gun.
