hoping to have a powerplant/rear end for it before 2 weeks. it's a 46' Chevy Cab/Front end on top of an 87' Ranger Frame/Rolling chassis. The plan is to find a Mopar powerplant for it. may end up going Chevy 350 though if I can't find anything. As they are abundant up here.

Plan is to get it driving before August.  I will levae it the rusty brown it is for now. It's gonna be a rat rod. So I don't care. final plans are flat black fenders and army green the rest :)

350 four bolt main can't be beat price wise. They are super easy to build and there are thousands of parts for them.

Explorers are 3" wider.  I want to stay away from EFI. To much wiring. Carbed motor, SUPER easy :)

maybe yes, maybe no....

it's usually not the block or bellhousing that cause issues and those types of builds.  It's the assessory location. I had a buddy put a 350 into a older Jeep and the biggest issue was routing the rack and pinon steering arm around (or through) the motor components.

Just food for thought.

I disagree, there are hundreds of retro mod kits available using the stock 5.0 mustang harness, brain, etc.  One nice thing about the over sold mustangs is that parts are easy to find and they're cheap.

If there is a problem, it's hard to narrow down for your Average Joe.

Besides, it's a Chevy. I would stick to GM powerplant....I wouldn't mix and match, but that's me.
