Ok, got Nikki's quad (05 YFZ), now for the modding  :grin_nod:

What's a good three mod set-up?  I know the FCI intake is popular, I don't forsee upgrading her rear shock anytime soon, so what about the Velocity set-ups?

What about exhaust?  She'll need something that has controllable noise ~96db due to the new CO OHV laws going into effect soon.

Jet kits, GYTR, Dyno jet, does it matter ???

there are so many different opinions on what is MOST important.. but..

the YFZ is a GREAT quad in stock form..

that being said...

the Intake is an area that needs improvement
I would recommend the Ron Woods or the FCI
both do a great job, and the Woods is a bit cheaper..

Exhaust.. (there are a MILLION)
I gotta Recommend the Barker..
EXCELLENT quality (as you 700 guys well know)
great HP
quiet core is available..... (this WILL make the DB regs.. and on my 450R, it only lost a half of a horsepower)
spark arrestors available
and they just look GREAT!
and sound AWESOME!

Talk to Kenneth at KB or Steve at TQS for pricing

one IMPORTANT mod/upgrade you should do is the "oil mod"
I would look to J&T for that
200 bucks and it is DONE!
they are located in Lapeer MI (right down the street from Tim Barker's Shop)
http://www.jtatv.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=4
even though she may not abuse her quad like some of us do..
this is a known problem with the pre 2007 YFZ

the Cam-mod is free, and helps add a bit more "seat of the pants" HP

the "o-ring mod" is free, and helps that "off the line" BOG that so many YFZ's have

the suspension is a bit of a personal thing .. expensive.. and maybe not needed for her
does she like to fly?
the YFZ is a jumper.. if you want it
in that case.. some good arms and shocks are priceless..
if not.. leave it alone..

finally.. some sexy OneIndustries Graphics!!

hows the GYTR pipe for the 450 Hefe?

Hefe

not as good as the barker!

maybe this will answer your question..

that was after 1 season... yes... ONE SEASON!

and the GYTR on the new 450R WILL NOT PASS DB TESTS
(this according to Tim Barker at a recent Race)
not sure about the older GYTR on the 450's

I can tell you that the GYTR's look and sound good, but if they blow out that bad.. I will pass!
