I have been told the HR crank for the 700 is close but the YFZ need balanced

Go with the Barker 12m long rod. You'll be good. :grin_nod:

Ive heard the same thing as air. whats the difference? suppose i did have it balanced to a certain piston and down the road i change pistons? So know by what you guys are saying i should pull the crank and have it rebalanced again to the new piston. why is balance not an issue with a stock crank you can change pistons all day long. I have heard the hr crank's take almost all the vibration outta the motor compared to stock. a 12mm long rod holly  thats to much for the type of riding i do

The Hotrods cranks are balanced for stock weight pistons. Many aftermarket pistons are lighter than stock, which will create what we would call an "overbalance" condition that is not a big deal, and can actually be beneficial for high RPM conditions. Going the opposite way with a larger (heavier than stock) piston should be addressed by having it balanced. Depending on the weight difference, you could possibly bring the assembly back to proper weight by using a lightweight tool steel wrist pin (taper wall will work too). I have plenty of customers using the +5 with 105-105.5 mm bore pistons straight out of the box with no problems. :)

I am also interested in putting a Hr +5mm crank. I contacted HR and  they also recommend to reduce the by 500 rpm the max engine speed.
thought the info might interest some of you guys

I wonder why they are saying that.......Maybe they mean the peak torque and HP are 500 RPM sooner. Of course they could be covering their "bases" ???

This is what they say exactly:
I would recommend that you lower the RPM by 500. This is mainly due to the thrust angle of the rod and piston and the wear pattern that they make with that stroker.

So are they saying to lower the rev limit by 500rpm?
