Not to mention your torque will be up significantly over a big bore kit, as well as having a very fat torque curve (torque peaks early and carries throughout the rpm band).

I would have it ballanced and trued for you motor specs. I would never just drop in a crank and call it a day. It will be worth in in the long run.

You cant have one ballance for every type of motor out there. It will vary depending on what motor stup your using.

I thought you were going with a hotrod crank?

I don't get it.. shouldn't a balanced crank be a balanced crank, no matter the quad it's in? ???

Custom balanced with the piston your runnin. The cranks that come "balanced" use an avreage on the piston weights of pistons available for that engine.

Krandall

Do you just get extra vibration if it's not balanced? Or what kind of symptons would one experience w/ an unbalanced crank?

We put a unballanced +3 Hot Rod crank in a YFZ and it wore out the lower end berrings and caused excessive "thrust" in the crank and had piston to head contact, that inturn broke a valve, then the wristpin, then the rod went through the cylinder wall.

Pretty much total carnage.

Ok im a little confused.why is it you can put any standard bore piston on the stock rotating assembly but your saying you cant put an after market crank in with the same piston i have now without issues. or did i miss understand something ???Im gonna just go for it and take my chances, worst case senario i ahve to go bigger

I think your understanding it right, but if you go that deap into the motor you might as well do it up 100%.
