Yea.. The way they have the heatsink on the GPU is crap.. so when it starts getting hot, it actually flexes AWAY From the board.

I make sure mine is vented really well. Dont laugh but I was thinking of puting a small fan in the rear of the entertament system for added air flow. Cuz I have heard that putting the intercoolers on the back will actualy cause the x box to run hotter because it is doing more work than its worth.

I bought mine as a refurbished unit from TigerDirect and it lasted about 80 days (90 day warranty on the refurb units) before the RROD.  Free replacement, no problems.

I would try new cables. I thought mine went out but it was just the cable.

My Elite still works with no problems (2years old).  Then maybe 4 months ago I got one at a yard sale that was a step up from the core 360 for $10.  I bought it and it works fine.  You could tell the Microsoft 360 Tech that you do have the RROD and see what happens.   50/50 chance.

I bought one of those too.  Hit Microsoft's website and they extended the warranty to 3 years and fixed it for free

haha just got a new one today, now i have one at my moms and dads, hopefully this one wont get broken
