hey guys, im looking at gettin a sport bike this summer and was wondering what you would recommend. i use to ride dirt bike before i got my raptor but i still ride a bike so i still kinda of know how the steering and turning would be.....im looking at either a yamaha r6 or a gsxr 600. what do you guys think? also if you want you can post up your bikes.

The R6 and the GSXR are both fine machines.

Have you had the chance to ride a sportbike lately? Crazy fast.

You cant go wrong with either one of those bikes.  I used to have a honda cbr 600 and love it.  I really like the GSX's but the R6 is a really nice bike.  good luck and have fun

no i havent....but that what i hear and that is why i plan on only getting a 600....for now :P
just wondering how tall are you guys that ride? im 6'1 and will i be comfortable on one? thanks

Flynbyu

I'm 6'2'' and I've rode both bikes. Not too bad getting around town, but if I were on one for long periods of time I would be a little cramped. If I were to get another, I would go with a 750 or 1000 due to my size.

do you think a 750 would be to much for my first bike...or i just have to take my time gettin used to it
like i did with my raptor

Flynbyu

A 600 would be a great starter bike, but they are just as fast as a 750. The 750's seem to be a little more comfortable to me, and the 1000 cc class bike just scare the sh*t out of me.

Technically the modern 600 is too much for a beginner.  I like the GSXR 750 though

yeah but im somewhat used to bikes...i just have to get used to the power and steering. do either of you know the top speed of the 600 or 750 bikes....im just curious, not like ill top it out.

Colorado700R

dependent on bike but 145-165

700rSE

A 600 cc bike will bust 150-160 mph (247-257 kph) no problem.

A 600 will pull just as hard as a 750 on the throttle. There isn't much difference between the two. A 750 will power up through three gears no problem. The 600/750 class bikes handle a little better in my opinion. I can toss one of those in and out of a corner easier than a larger bike. I definitely recommend riding a 600. If you have a friend that owns one and he/she trusts you, take it for a spin.
