Iam curious to know if anyone has wrapped there exhaust with header wrap.Im getting ready to put new plastic on and my old tail section is melted where the pipes are close to it along with whats left of my airbox.I dont want to ruin another tail section. If you have wrapped them does it make the pipes carrode like on a car's headers. Thanks in advance

They only corrode because moisture sticks to the wrap. Just go to auto parts store and buy some insulated tape (like what they put under hood of car) and stick to fenders where pipe comes close.

De Nada.

Tape is what they usually do at the factory for one side of exhaust, but it is formed to the fender. You can buy rolls or sheets when you have to do the other side for duals.

Try the heating and a/c section at a home improvement store as well...may be cheaper. Just thought of that.

Buy some good glue as well maybe.

Have the exhaust ceramic coated. It works on the same theory as a wrap, but does not corrode the exhaust. I just had my full single exhaust coated at moorepower.com for 80 bucks.

you could ,if possible, trim that fenders. bepending on where they are going to rub, you could just trim that part back like i did with mine.

I dont really want to trim brand new plastic :lol:Does powder coating help at all? I dont think i have a local shop to put ceramic coating on and dont really want to send parts in the mail.
