I was blown away by that fight.  Oscar just didn't seem himself out there.  But Pacquiao sure has the speed.

Yeah, I got into watching boxing when I was living out west.  I was blown away with Pacquiao's speed, damn that boy could fly.  Somone told me that even if Oscar lost he would still make more.  The golden boy sure knows how to make the coin.  He's huge in real estate out west.

I was suprised too. I like Oscar.

One of the other reasons boxing is going down the tubes......One fight $50 via pay-per-view. UFC fights have 5-10 fights for the same money, and many more knockouts.

A friend of mine met Oscar at the Isuzu Pro-Am in St. Lake City ten years ago. My firend Jay is an avid golfer, and played teh course a day before. He was in the galley, and had two hotdogs. He was eating one and Oscar came over and asked him "Are you goign to eat all of that?" He handed Oscar the other hodog and Oscar ate it. He took some pictures with him, and later that night he caught him in the lobby and Oscar signed stuff and took a bunch of pictures with him.

I remember seeing Oscar in the Seoul Olympics. His mother had just died and after every fight he won, he would point toward heaven.  Awesome guy.

Quite a few athletes point to heaven when they do something amazing. Nothing more than a gimmick.

Boxing hasn't been fun to watch for me for awhile. Very boring and drawn out.

All in what you like..

I agree. I used to watch iboxing when I was younger. And golf....is boring to watch no matter how you "slice" it. Fun to play though.

Hockey is not boring, just hard to come from other sports get up to speed with all the different rules.
My boss was just talking about icing the puck, and how he didn't understand that.
He said the same for the off-sides rule in soccer. Eliminates goal hording.

Correct, it is my observation. When an athlete is in the news for breaking the law, beating his wife, taking drugs, or gets caught fooling around etc. I call B.S. on the whole pointing to heaven thing. And I did not say "all athletes" Maybe removing the "quite" from my post would make it more accurate. They should be pointing to the fans, who are loading their wallets.....

I am making a big generalization here, but this is how I see sports for the most part.  They forget why they are there, and that is why I stopped watching most pro sports.

Michael Vick? Not even news. But, I guarantee at least half the sports coverage today will pointed at him.

Also Socal, no intent there to start a religious discussion. Just aiming at the Bull$hit Theatrics of sports and professional athletes.

I agree with that, but there are a few good ones left in sports.  But for the most part you are right about the masses, and that makes me sick.
